담문 평가의 원리 (The Principle of Text Evaluation)

초록

이 논문은 글쓰기 평가 원리를 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 글쓰기는 글감을 선택하고, 이를 확장하여, 앞뒤에 맞게 배열하며 주제를 하나로 통일하고 다양한 기법으로 표현을 다듬어야 한다. 그런데 연구자는 이런 선택, 확장, 배열, 통합, 전이 원리를 훈민정음에서 확인하였다. 문자 창제의 동기와 체계, 이를 설명한 해례는 주제가 진실하고, 내용이 충실하며, 표현이 정확하면서 기술 관점이 일관되어 글의 품격을 드높였다. 특히 창제 배경을 해설하고 이를 시로써 마무리한 표현 기법은 정전의 창조성을 증명해 주었다.
이러한 표현 원리가 잘 반영된 훈민정음에서 담문의 평가 원리를 도출해 낼 수 있다면 금상첨화가 아닐 수 없다. 담문 평가의 원리는 당연히 품격을 갖춘 글의 요건이어야 한다. 그런데 훈민정음은 그런 평가의 요건을 잘 갖추고 있어 주목된다. 백성을 위한 창제 동기는 주제의 진실성을 말해 준다. 창제 배경과 글자의 해설은 내용의 충실성을 갖추었다. 일자 일획도 틀림이 없는 표기와 체계의 정확성과 기술의 일관성은 완벽한 담문 평가의 척도로 부족함이 없다. 더욱이 표현의 참신성은 정전의 권위를 잘 드러내 준다.
이러한 평가 원리의 관점에서 한국 문장론을 고찰해 보면 극복해야 할 문제가 많다. 원리 탐구를 소홀히 하여 이론을 확립하지 못하였고, 그에 따라 평가 기준도 마련하지 못한 데 원인이 있다. 외국 문장론 수용의 집필 동기, 허술한 내용 체계, 용어의 혼용과 표기의 오류, 임의적인 관점은 문장론의 제 구실을 다하지 못하고 있다. 그래서 담문 평가의 원리인 진실성, 충실성, 정확성, 일관성, 참신성을 강조하지 않을 수 없다. 이것이 담문 평가의 원리에 입각한 새로운 문장론을 기대하는 까닭이다.

영어초록

The main purpose of this thesis is aimed to research the principle of writing evaluation. Writing is started with the main ideas and has to be widened by logical order. Moreover, the contents should be related to the topic and the expressions are expected to be polished and sophisticated. Surprisingly, the researcher discovered the principle of writing such as selection, expansion, arrangement, synthesis, and transition in Hunmin- jeongeum. Hunminjeongeum brings the reasons of creation and the methods of lettering system. Also it includes explanation of every single sentence and letter. Furthermore, Hunminjeongeum is perceived as a script which enhanced the dignity of writing because it is deeply truthful, well-explained, expressed correctly, and consistent. Especially, the explanation of reasons of creating Hunminjeongeum and the finalizing with the poetic expression prove that it is the best script in the Korean history.
Hunminjeongeum reflects the expression principle well, so nothing could be better if the principle of text evaluation can be deduced in it. The principle of text evaluation has to be the requisite of dignified writing. So far, Hunminjeongeum arouses all attentions because of its well-prepared requisites of evaluation. The reasons of creating Hunminjeongeum stand for the veracity. The explanation of every single sentence and letter and the background of creation both show the completeness. Accuracy of spelling a single letter with strokes, the exact system, and the consistency of descriptions are enough to be a perfect standard for the principle of text evaluation. Ideally, the explanation of sentences and letters is shaped by its own rhyme. So it is obvious that Hunminjeongeum is the most valuable cultural legacy.
When considering Korean syntax, a point of view from the principle of evaluation, it has a lot of problems to get over. The causes of improper using of Korean syntax could be；the motives of writing the expropriation of foreign syntax, uncompleted contents system, mixture of terminology, wrong transcription writings, inconsistency of view, and the lack of distinctions. Besides, the researches havent been concentrated enough on establishing the theories as well as the preparation of evaluation standard. Therefore the principles of text evaluation such as veracity, completeness, correctness and consistency couldnt be emphasized. These are why the renewed Korean syntax which is built with the principle of text evaluation is expected.
