영유아 관련 기관 교사의 영아교육과정에 대한 인식 (Perceptions of Daycare Curriculum Among Professionals in Infant and Early Childhood Education Institutions)

초록

목적 본 연구는 영아보육 및 유아교육 현장에서 종사하고 있는 교사들을 대상으로 영아교육과정에 대한 인식과 의견을 파악하는데그 목적이 있다.
방법 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 J도의 영유아 보육 및 교육 기관인 어린이집, 유치원에 종사하는 1,566명을 대상으로 2024년 11월약 한 달에 걸쳐 온라인을 활용한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사한 자료를 바탕으로 빈도분석, 백분율을 산출하였으며 연구 대상의전공, 보유한 자격증별로 집단을 구분한 후 교차분석과 t-검증을 실시하였다.
결과 연구 결과, 교육학을 전공한 집단이 보육을 전공한 집단에 비해 영아교육과정의 새로운 수립 및 영유아교육과정 통합의 필요성을 더 강하게 인식하고 있었다. 영아교육과정의 주요 내용에 대한 인식의 차이를 분석한 결과에서도 전공별로는 교육학 전공자 집단이 보육 전공자 집단에 비해, 보유하고 있는 자격증별로는 유치원 교사 집단이 보육 교사 집단에 비해 영아의 발달을 측정하는 도구의활용, 유연한 반편성에 보다 호의적인 것으로 나타났다. 영아교육과정을 운영할 교사의 자격 및 자질에 대한 인식에서도 전공별로는교육학 전공자 집단이 보육 전공자 집단에 비해, 자격증별로는 유치원 교사 집단이 보육 교사 집단에 비해 새롭게 개편되고 보강되어야 한다고 인식하는 양상을 보였다. 다만, 영아교육내용에서 초점을 맞추어야 할 부분에 대해서는 집단간 유의미한 의견 차이가 드러나지 않았다.
결론 본 연구는 유보통합이 단계적으로 추진되고 있는 현 시점에서 영유아관련 기관 교사의 영아교육과정에 대한 인식을 확인하고, 더 나아가 전공 및 보유한 자격증별 차이를 탐색했다는데 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 추후 연구에 대한 제언점을제시하였다.

영어초록

Objectives The objective of this study is to examine the perceptions and opinions of teachers working in infant care and early childhood education settings regarding the infant curriculum.
Methods To achieve this objective, an online survey was conducted over approximately one month in November 2024. The survey targeted a total of 1,566 teachers employed at daycare centers and kindergartens in Province J. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis and percentage calculations. Furthermore, partic ipants were grouped based on their academic major and professional certifications, followed by cross-tabulation analysis and t-tests to identify group differences.
Results The results of the study indicate that teachers with a background in education demonstrated a stronger recognition of the necessity to establish a new daycare curriculum and integrate it with the early childhood curricu lum compared to those with a background in childcare. Differences in perceptions regarding the key components of the daycare curriculum were also observed. Specifically, participants with a major in education and kindergarten teachers were more favorable towards the use of tools to assess infant development and the implementation of flexible grouping compared to their respective counterparts. Regarding the qualifications and competencies re quired of teachers responsible for implementing the infant curriculum, teachers with a background in education and kindergarten teachers were more likely to emphasize the need for restructuring and strengthening such qual ifications compared to those with a background in childcare or childcare teachers. However, no statistically sig nificant differences were observed among groups regarding the specific aspects of content that should be priori tized in the infant curriculum.
Conclusions This study provides meaningful insights by investigating the perceptions of professionals working in infant care and early childhood education institutions at a time when the integration of infant and early childhood education systems is being gradually implemented. Moreover, it explores differences in perceptions based on academic background and professional certifications. Based on the findings, implications for future research are presented.
