Introduction to Socio Cultural Studies

Final Term Paper Outline (Draft) International Studies / Cultural Heritage / 202048013 Daha Kim Related part from class book: p299 Media domination and identities / p144 The engendering of femininity and masculinity Working Title: Gendered identity acquisition through melodrama in TV media: Egypt and its comparison Purpose of the study: To understand and analyze the gendered identity acquisition mainly focusing women through broadcasted melodrama in Television media as one of cultural socialization, comparing specific periphery and core countries from 1952 Egyptian revolution to present. Method & Data: Quantitative, Comparative, Library-based and Internet-based research based on melodrama in television media Outline: Many sociologists acknowledge the power of media in the social reproduction of gendered identity of women. According to the Gender Equality Index, Egypt is a conservative country. Egyptian censors about television media broadcasting is harsh and the press freedom index indIt would not just in the case of capital but for culture. So firstly I would compare Egypt melodrama with the one of Europe trying to avoid a eurocentric perspective. Among many countries in Europe, I want to pick the UK because Egypt-United Kingdom relations refer to the bilateral relationship between the Arab Republic of Egypt and Great Britain and it is longstanding. And Egypt has a conservative stance and the UK is progressive than Egypt in issues with media and gender. According to the gender equality index, USA is progressive. Censorship about media in USA is in good situation. USA is a country where some decisions are made by direct democratic processes, while others are made by democratically elected representatives. So I want to compare Egyptian dramas with UK and USA as periphery and core. Existing media-gender studies consider the relationship between media and gender, and how gender is represented within media platforms such as television and film. However, what exactly do ith a distinctive configuration of narrative, emotion, and subjectivity inflected by local and national socio-cultural ideologies? With this in mind, I want to analyze and compare Egypt to two core countries such USA and UK. 5. Contents(*Could be modified) A. Introduction B. [석사논문]북동항로(북극항로) 운항 관련 국제법적 연구 -러시아 주장에 대한 비판적 고찰

제1절 연구 배경 및 목적지 구 온난화 등의 영향으로 북극의 얼음이 녹기 시작하면서 북극해 활용방안에 대한 논의가 활발해지고 있다. 북극해에 대한 이러한 세계 각국의 논의는 군사․지정학적인 문제를 포함하여 북극해에 존재하는 광물 및 수산물, 해운 항로까지 다양한 측면에서 전략적으로 진행되고 있는 실정이다.특히, 북극해에서 선박 운항이 가능한 기간이 늘어나게 되면서 지구 반대편으로 갈 수 있는 운송경로가 수에즈 운하 및 파나마 운하를 경유하는 전통적인 기존 경로에 더해서 북극해 지역을 통하는 새로운 운송경로가 생기게 되었다. 이른바, ‘북극항로’로 불리고 있는 이 해운경로는 해운 운송 비용 측면에서 획기적인 절감 가능성을 가지고 있는 것으로 평가되는 경로이다. 이에, 세계 각국은 북극해를 통한 해운 운송에 관심을 갖게 되었다.이렇듯, 과거에는 혹독한 환경을 가진 버려진 땅으로 인식되던 북극의 활용 가능성이 최근들어 주목받게 되고, 북극 지역 활용을 통한 이익을 얻을 수 있는 기회가 온 만큼, 각국은 자신들의 이익을 조금이라도 더 얻기위해 북극해에 대한 권리를 주장하고 있는 상황이다. 이는 북극해에 접해있는 연안국 뿐만 아니라, 중국과 같이 북극해에서 떨어져 있는 비 연안국도 자신들이 북극해에 대해 권리를 갖고 있다고 주장하고 있으며, 이 과정에서 비(非) 연안국의 북극 활동 참여 범위에 대해 연안국과 비 연안국간 의견 차이도 보이고 있다. 또한, 북극해에 대한 해상 통항과 관련해서도 직접 연안국과 비 연안국이 통항에 대한 권리를 두고 각자의 입장에 따라 의견 차이를 보이고 있다. 다행히, 이렇게 발생하는 분쟁을 해결하고자 국제 사회가 협력 체계를 갖추어 논의하고자 추진중에 있지만, 각국의 이해관계가 워낙 복잡하여 논의에 대한 결론은 내리지는 못하고 여전히 서로의 권리만 주장하고 있는 상황이다.
