시 읽기를 통한 창의적 글쓰기 교육 방법 (Creative Writing Teaching Method through Poetry Reading)

초록

본 연구는 시 읽기를 통한 창의적 글쓰기 교육 방법을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 창의적 글쓰기의 개념을 규명하고 시 읽기와 쓰기 간의 관계를 고찰하였다. 창의적 글쓰기는 감성적 인식과 독창적인 시각으로 삶을 바라본 경험을 개성 있게 표현하여 독자의 공감을 불러일으키는 글을 쓰는 행위이다. 시 텍스트 읽기는 학습자의 경험과 정서가 총체적으로 관여하며 상상적으로 세계를 재구성하도록 하고 상투적인 인식을 벗어나 창의적인 관점에서 삶을 성찰하는 반응을 표현하게 한다는 점에서 학습자가 창의적 글쓰기의 필자로 위치하도록 하는 기반이 된다.
시 읽기를 통한 창의적 글쓰기 교육 방법을 구안하기 위해 SIT(Systematic Inventive Thinking) 를 교육 원리로 적용하였다. SIT는 기존의 고정관념을 벗어나서 새롭게 생각할 수 있도록 하는 과정에 도움을 주는 창의적 사고 도구로 ‘제거, 용도 통합, 복제, 분할, 속성의존’으로 구성되어 있다. 시적 창의성이 언어적⋅정서적⋅문화적 요소로 이루어진 점과 창의적 학습 모델 단계를 반영하여 ‘언어를 통한 발산적 사고’, ‘복합적인 정서에 대한 평가 및 경험의 개방성’, ‘삶의 가치 표현’으로 시 읽기를 통한 창의적 글쓰기 교육 단계를 설정하고 SIT 원리를 적용하여 네 가지 교육 방법을 구체화하였다.
첫째, 하나의 요소가 여러 기능을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 ‘용도 통합’과 다양한 관점에서 대상이나 현상을 바라보며 재구성하는 ‘분할’의 원리를 적용하여 시 텍스트의 애매성을 탐구하는 질문을 생성하도록 하고 탐구 질문을 해결하는 과정에서 언어와 삶에 대한 민감성을 깨울 수 있도록 지도해야 한다. 둘째, 핵심적 요소를 삭제하는 ‘제거’의 원리를 적용하여 시 텍스트를 읽으며 관습적인 개념어들로 명명되지 않는 정서들을 개방하도록 유도하고 이러한 반응을 감각적으로 묘사할 수 있도록 환유적 표현 방식을 지도해야 한다. 셋째, ‘복제’의 원리를 적용한 패러디 시 쓰기 활동에서는 원 텍스트와 대화성을 유지하면서 차이 나는 반복을 구현했는지에 방점을 두고 동시대의 문화적 자원을 활용하여 새로운 의미를 창출할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 넷째, 내부속성 간의 관계와 내부속성과 외부속성 간의 관계를 어떻게 설정할 것인지를 고려하는 ‘속성의존’의 원리를 적용하여 시를 이야기로 바꾸어 쓰는 장르 변환 활동을 구안하고, 이야기시와 같이 서술성이 두드러지는 시 텍스트를 적극적으로 활용하여 학습자가 스토리텔러 역할을 할 수 있도록 해야 한다.

영어초록

This study explores methods of creative writing instruction through poetry reading. For this, the concept of creative writing was clarified and the relationship between poetry reading and writing was examined. Creative writing uniquely expresses the experience of looking at life using emotional perception and an original perspective to induce empathy from the reader. Reading poetry allows learners to break away from conventional perceptions, reflect on everyday experiences from a creative perspective, and express responses to construct the world imaginatively as readers, thus becoming the foundation for establishing the reader as a writer of creative writing. Creative writing can be effectively taught in a way that is integrated with poetry reading, which involves the overall experience and emotions of the reader. To devise a method of creative writing education method through poetry reading, Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) was adopted as an educational principle. SIT is a tool for creative thinking that helps in the process of thinking anew through breaking away from existing stereotypes that consists of subtraction, task unification, multiplication, division, and attribute dependency. To reflect the fact that poetic creativity is composed of linguistic, emotional, and cultural elements and the model stage of creative learning, we set the stage of divergent thinking through language, the evaluation of complex emotions and openness to experience, and expression of life values, and we then applied the SIT principle to specify four educational methods. First, we should applied the principle of task unification, allowing one element to perform multiple functions, and division, looking at objects or phenomena from various perspectives and reconstructs them to generate questions that explore the ambiguity of the poetic text; in the process of solving those questions, we should guide students to awaken their sensitivity to language and life. Second, we should apply the principle of subtraction, deleting core elements so that students can open up emotions not named by conventional concepts together with the poetic text, and we should teach metonymic expression methods to allow ourselves to describe these reactions sensuously. Third, in parody poetry writing activities applying the principle of multiplication, we should determine whether we have implemented repetitions while maintaining the conversational nature of the original text, and we should enable them to create new meanings with the use of contemporary cultural resources. Fourth, we should design genre transformation activities to alter poetry into stories through the principle of attribute dependence and actively utilizing materials with narrative content such as narrative poetry, so that learners can play the role of storytellers.
