유아의 자기조절력 관련변인간의 관계 분석

초록

본 연구는 Vygotsky의 관점에서 개발된 자기조절력 측정도구(이정란, 양옥승, 2003)를 사용하여 자기조절력의 발달에 영향을 주는 변인들간의 상관관계를 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 유치원과 어린이집의 3, 4, 5세 유아 300명과 부모, 교사를 연구대상으로 하였다. 사회경제적 수준에 따라 3, 4, 5세 유아 각 50명씩을 선정한 후 지능검사를 실시하였으며 담임 교사와 부모에게 설문지를 배부하였다. 어머니는 유아의 자기조절력 검사, 기질 검사, 양육행동 검사를, 교사는 유아의 사회적 능력과 정서능력 검사도구를 작성하도록 하였다. 회수된 설문지는 224부였으나 문항을 누락시킨 경우 대상에서 제외시켜, 총 180부를 분석에 사용하였으며 Pearson의 적률상관계수를 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 어머니 양육 행동 중 합리적 지도가 자기조절력의 모든 구성 요인, 즉 자기평가, 자기결정, 행동억제, 정서성의 하위요인과 가장 높은 상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났으며,자기점검 능력의 자기결정 요인은 유아의 연령과 가장 상관이 높게 나타났으며 그리고 자기점검 능력은 자기통제 능력과 다르게 성별과 관련이 있다는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

Self-regulation of Young children is a developmental characteristic that determines their future social, emotional and cognitive abilities. It is, therefore, important that it be sufficiently formed during the early childhood through appropriate education. The purpose of this study is to identify the relation of related variables of self-regulation in young children. The results of the study of variables related to young children's self-regulation are summarized below. Young children's self-regulation had a significant correlation with a child's age, cognitive ability, traits, emotional ability, social ability and gender. A children's age had a significant correlation with sub-factors self-determination and behavior inhibition(p<.01) while a children's cognitive ability showed a significant correlation with sub-factor self-determination(P<.5). A children's traits had a significant correlation with sub-factors self-appraisal and emotionality(p<.01) while a children's emotional ability was significantly correlated with sub-factors self-appraisal, self-determination and behavior inhibition. A children's social ability had a significant correlation with sub-factors self-appraisal and behavior inhibition(p<.01) while a children's gender was significantly correlated with sub-factors self-appraisal and self-determination(p<.01). To summarize, sub-factor self-appraisal showed the strongest correlation with a children's trait responsiveness(.27), sub-factor self-determination with a children's age(.35), sub-factor behavior inhibition with a children's social ability (.26) and sub-factor emotionality with a children's trait adaptiveness(.25). Self-regulation of young children showed a significant correlation with the parent's rearing. A correlation analysis of related variables shows that a mother who rears using reasonable instruction has the strongest correlation with all sub-factors of the ability to self-regulate among young children(.29∼.40). The level of affection of the mother's rearing showed a significant correlation with sub-factors self-appraisal(.15), behavior inhibition(.16) and emotionality (.27). However, it did not show a significant correlation with sub-factor self-determination. The responsiveness of the mother's rearing showed a significant correlation of .28 with sub-factor self-appraisal. Socio-economic level did not show any correlation. According to an analysis of the structure of variables related with self-regulation of young children, mother's rearing has a direct influence on both self-control(.50) and self-monitoring(.40). The socio-economic level influences self-control through the children's cognitive ability, emotional ability and social ability.
