What kind of era do we live in? Ever since the enlightenment has been challenged by the existentialism of Nietzsche because of its excessive objectivity, our society has been moved into the postmodernism era through various social movements including women's liberation, student activism, black power movement, and the rising of the third world. Moreover, rapid development of high technique, and invention of internet have brought the globalization to the earth. Since we live in the postmodernism era, it has been unavoidable to deal with many conflicts caused by cultural differences, and distinctions of thinking methods and ethical values among various countries. Of course, these conflicts have caused all kinds of philosophers’ attentions. However, those various opinions from many philosophers can be majorly divided into two parts; ethical relativism, and universalism. People who insist Relativism such as Ruth Benedict say “Your truth is your truth, my truth is my truth. We need to respecple who do not belong to that country not to judge, but to accept different culture because people need to respect high value of diversity. In contrary, ethical universalism insists that people can reach to certain common moral values if they think and learn about a problem. It is true that there is no one single “right” answer because of the complexities of most moral situations. However, the universalism believes that critical thinking and continued arguments would lead us to a certain similar opinion from each other which is more flexible and subtle that everyone can agree.In the point of view from the universalism, the relativism could be seen as taking the diversity of values excessively overrated. According to the text book, the writer uses an example of Eskimo. In the past, people in Eskimo used to leave old people out in the cold of winter to die. At this point, the behavior can be regarded as murdering innocence senior people. However, there is more behind stories in this cruend reason is that there was a special belief among Eskimo religion. They believed in an afterlife and it was an honor for the old people to enter the afterlife. It is not guilty for the Eskimo to kill those senior people. And it is essential for us not to criticize the Eskimo, but to understand their circumstance and culture. However, the universalism still insists that the Eskimo case is very rare. There are still many other circumstances that everyone can reach to one certain shared idea through the process of argument. The universalism believes that people are not much different, and certain disagreements about moral values cannot be interpreted as a disagreement about certain facts. For example, if there is a little girl who lost her way and is crying, no matter what culture you have been grown up, you will feel sorry for her. As long as people have similar purposes and definitions of morality which refer that moral value should be made for human, there would not have much disagreelues. However, this does not mean that we can ignore unreasonable behaviors. Although we need to respect the diversity of values and cultural differences, we still have a right to think, suspect, and argue about whether this behavior is right or not. It is true that choose what right or wrong is difficult. However, negligence should not be the last word. If we go back to the starting point in the beginning of ethic class, ethic is about questioning about all phenomena around us. There is not clear standard point for ethic and morality. However, the unclear standard point also does not mean that ethic and morality are made by belief from religion or education both which are totally not related to reason.Now we can think about other case where we admit prescriptive moral relativism. If we admit that there is no arguably “right” answer to moral question, then does the diversity of values make a practical difference? The cannibalism can be one of examples for nonsense point about the diverth to argue about. To eat human race is not acceptable for all civilized cultures. Moreover, there are more important issues that we have to make moral judgment across cultural lines. For example, the colonial trade of American corporations in South Africa.As time passes, what is right and wrong has been a major issue for many philosophers such as Aristotle, Kant, Plato, and Bentham. Each person has his own theory about morality and true value. However, we cannot determine which theory is absolute right or true value. According to the theory of the State written by Plato, Socrates describes people who do not think and just act as prisoners who have been kept inside of cave, but never been outside of the cave. And he also describes philosophers who symbolize thinking people as people who have seen a sun. Socrates says that only those people who have realized the sun light are well-qualified for being a leader. This story means that grasping the true characteristic of justice, true valuests.

During those long decades, the earth has been through many alternations including lives living in the planet. According to history of the earth, various changes which have been occurred in the earth can be discovered such as evolution, which is modification of organisms, continental drift theory, and civilization of human being etc. However, it is difficult to determine that those changes have always headed toward positive direction. In other words, those alternations have not only leaded some organisms to become advanced, but also made some organisms to become atrophied. For example, cultures and scientific technology of human society have generally developed from being uncivilized to become civilized. In contrary, it cannot bed the question that evolution, which is descent with modification, indicates advanced modification of organismcine with scientific aspect including chemistry, and thermodynamic field. In many Asian countries, part of various live stocks have been used as ingredients for medicine such as horn of deer, animal’s bone, milk of horse, gall bladder of bear and snack’s egg etc. One of reasons that oriental medicine is not welcome in many western societies is that effect of oriental medicine is not scientifically proved. It is also true that some people in western cultures take many ingredients of oriental medicine as animal abuse. In this paper, why oriental medicines use part of animal for healing patients, and whether these medicines actually work or not are mentioned based on scientific approach.In order to understand the oriental medicine and how Asian medical therapy work, first of all, it is necessary to understand basic Asian philosophy focusing on balance. There are many elements existing in nature such as water, fire, and sun light etc. The nature can exist by keeping balance between these nwhich can either increase Yang power or decrease Yin power. There are several reasons for using live stocks as ingredients of the medicine instead of using chemical compounds. Before the modern age when many Asian countries opened their door to Western countries, most Asian countries’ science and technology fell behind comparing to the Western countries; most medicines in Asian areas were made by the nature such as animals which also have the Yin-Yang system. Another reason is that people strongly believe that eating organism from the nature would transfer the organism’s Yin-Yang power to human. This theory is closed to the first law of the thermodynamic and the rule of the energy conservation.There are various animal parts are used as ingredients of traditional oriental medicine. The taste of the medicine is sweet. According to the antlers are classified as the Yang medicine which can increase Yang power in order to see effect of antler growth period on the chemical composition of velvet antler. After measuring the composition of the antlers, it is discovered that the amount of several compositions such as the contents of protein, total amino acid composition, GAGs, uronic acid and sialic acid become decreased as time passes.
