To begin with, our group organized research purposes to probe ‘new media’ and ‘SNS’ in detail. First is to discuss the present figure of new media and its similarity/difference in comparison to old media. Second is to discuss the future of new media from a critical perspective. Third is to discuss the characteristics of members of new media as well as its impact on society, for instance, it often buttresses the left wing rather than the right wing. Fourth is to analyze the difference between early new media and nowadays new media.

Even though new media is often praised for bringing a revolutionary change in the form of communication, as we wrote above new media is similar to old media in terms of power structure as well as bears newly-emerged social problems. Surely there are virtues, yet the point is that the structure is similar to that of old media and it has both pros and cons.
