The trend being group caused groupage of major company and business universal is putting emphasis on cosmopolitanly. Since 19 century, major countries of Europe such as Germany and France have settled the universal banking system that one company offers every service such as stock, bank, and asset management.
U.S.A accepted foundation of finance holding company system that can lead all of financial business under the GLB in 1999, and Japan also introduced through the revision of related law in 1997. Like this, these days the groupage of financial business is getting important and for this,Looking into the problems of Korea's financial holding company system, our financial holding company enacted the Financial Holding Companies Act in 2000 for the competitiveness enhance of domestic business through major company and business universal in 2000, and in 2008 these days WooRi Finance, SinHan Finance, Korean Investment Finance, HaNa finance etc, 4 financial holding companies are founded managed but compared to advanced major holding companies, it is still small and accompany development of non-bank is insufficient.
Also, for major company is oriented domestic financial company, work scope that can operate abroad is extremely limited.
Also the business competitiveness of stock and insurance company, non bank holding company is too weak compared to that of advanced.
And domestic holding company's customer information share or application scope between affiliated companies for joint goods development or sale joint marketing are very limited, According to the subsidiary joint marketing is insufficient, cross-selling, reduce costs and increase revenue are poor. Related to the governance and domestic holding company, the organizational structure of the domestic financial holding company is a vertical structure to each subsidiary of a holding company. So, it is difficult to secure independence of the subsidiary as well as the term of management is too short, there are aspects that hinder the stability of governance.
Therefore, when looking into way to solve the problem, The case of an advanced financial holding company, it shows that the Efforts to secure its own sources of revenue, with deregulation of the government are the opportunity to grow as a global financial group and these are the major development factors. Of course, recently Korean government should revitalize from Full-time work or localization to major company, globalization or cross over based on development experience of advanced financial holding company.
