문학적 상상력 함양을 위한 시교육 방법 (A Study on Poetry Education for Fostering ‘Literary Imagination’)

초록

본고에서는 상상력이 대상에 대한 심적 재생력이라는 인식에서 벗어나 사고력과의 관련성 속에서 심화될 수 있음을 밝히고, 구체적인 문학적 상상력 교육의 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 상상력의 단계는 감각정서적 상상력, 논리이성적 상상력, 주체 지향적 상상력으로 심화되며, 과거의 문학적 경험에 대한 인출 능력과 이미지와의 적극적인 교섭력을 통해 신장될 수 있는 가능성을 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 작품 속 시어들의 관련성을 토대로 학생들의 기존 경험을 환기시킴으로써 기본적인 이미지를 형상화시킬 뿐만 아니라, 이미지 간의 생략과 비약 그리고, 내면화를 통한 개성적 재해석을 통해 상상력의 확장을 시도해 보았다. 이를 통해 상상력은 정서적 차원에서의 감각적 이미지의 단순한 재생이 아니라, 정서와 이성이 소통함으로써 이미지의 변형과 조합은 물론 제삼의 주체 지향적 이미지를 생성해 나가는 능력임을 입증할 수 있었다. 또한, 이미지 상호간의 결합과 생략, 그리고 융합과 비약이라는 정신적인 활동은 다양한 이미지 생성을 위한 방법으로서 현실적 적용 가능성을 기대해 본다.

영어초록

This paper, by defining that the existing discussion considers imagination to be a reminder of a sensational image through mental reproduction of a thing as an object, started with the intention of pointing out a limit to the intent to apply such a perception to literature education, and overcoming such a limit. This paper looks upon the meaning of imagination as the ability to generate a new creative image not only in the combination and transformation of the existing image through the sensational image- building power on an emotional level and furthermore, the integration of emotion with reason by expanding its meaning but also in the relationships with the life of readers who were sparked through the medium of books. It's because the image aroused through a book is regenerated not simply in the form of a visual element, but the image also spreads to secondary emotional arousal through the process of the change and expansion in the realm of a reader's diverse emotion, the existing perception and personal experience, and further the image has an influence on the generation of a meaning and establishment of values. It was understood that the imagination education conducted by stages and procedurally through the process of this paper-attempted expansion of 'the frame of imagination', 'regenerative imagination', 'associative imagination' and 'creative imagination' could consequentially induce students to work out the active, plentiful emotion and meanings of works. On top of that, this paper could prove that the imagination education revitalizes student readers' mutual communicative efficiency in works, and it is also effective in fostering the imagination as the literature-education-aimed high-dimensional ability to think.
