사회적 기업의 창업기회와 창업성공의 요소들 (An Entrepreneurial Opportunity of Social Enterprise and Factors of Start-up Success)

초록

창업기회는 우리들의 주변에 항상 존재한다. 창업자가 새로운 수단, 성과, 혹은 수단-성과 관계의 형성을 통해 새로운 재화, 서비스, 원재료, 시장 및 조직이 형성되어 도입될 수 있는 상황이 창업의 기회이다. 사회적 기업의 창업기회는 사회적 기업을 창업하려고 하는 창업자의 인식에 의해 발견된다. 발견되는 기회는 기존산업에 외생적 충격에 의해 형성된 객관적 창업기회로, 이를 활용할 수 있는 비범하고 민감한 창업자에 의해 발견된다. 기회를 발견한 창업자는 시장의 낯설음, 생산기술의 낯설음, 기업 경영의 낯설음을 해결할 수 있는 능력을 갖출 때 성공적인 창업이 된다. 창업기업이 이 낯설음을 해결하기 위해 인적, 재무적, 또는 다른 자원들을 많이 보유하고 있어도 창업실패의 위험에서 벗어난 것은 아니다. 그 이유는 실제 창업에 필요한 자원을 획득하기가 어렵기 때문이다. 그래서 창업자에게 브리콜라지(bricolage)가 필요하다. 브리콜라지는 창업자가 가진 자원들을 이용하여 예측하지 못한 탁월한 결과를 만들어 내는 것을 말한다. 이 연구는 브리콜라지의 구체적 요소를 사회적 기업의 창업자와 결합하여 개념적으로 설명하는 데 있었다. 즉, 브리콜라지의 요소들은 해석, 주의, 즉흥연기가 되며, 사회적 기업의 창업자는 이들 요소들에 대한 능력을 가졌을 때, 창업성공을 이룰 수 있다는 것을 제안했다. 이 논문에서는 브리콜라지의 요소들이 해석, 주의, 즉흥연기가 될 수 있다는 것을 설명했다. 또한 브리콜라지를 창업기회와 연결시키므로 사회적 기업의 창업자가 창업성공을 위해 갖춰야 할 능력이 해석, 주의, 즉흥연기가 됨을 주장했다.

영어초록

Entrepreneurial opportunities exist around us, but all opportunities must not be obvious to everyone all of the time. Opportunities concern the introduction of new and/or improved means of supply(e.g., new products, services, or ways of doing business) to better serve the needs of consumers in one or more markets. At any point in time, only some subset of the population will discover a given opportunity. Because opportunities cannot be seen directly, entrepreneurs recognize possible opportunities for profit using cues from the environment that they filter and process through a number of mechanisms. entrepreneur taking the opportunity have in overcoming novelty(liability of newness). Novelty is viewed in three different dimensions, viz.: to the market, to the technology of production and to management. Most organizational entrepreneurship is characterized by severe resource constraints in order to overcome the novelties. while some new firms are able to fund entrepreneurial activities through the venture and public capital markets, such resources are not widely available to new firms. Even the very small proportion of new firms that experience growth often find it difficult to attract specific human, financial, or other resources when they are needed, creating scarcity even within apparently flourishing firms. Nonetheless, many entrepreneurs embrace or even pursue new challenges despite their inability or refusal to attract the new resources these challenges seem to demand. Sometimes their firms survive and even flourish solving problems and exploiting opportunities despite resource constraints. New firms possessing very similar material and human resource inputs may offer substantially different sets of services to the market because of differences in their ability to grasp possible uses and combinations of those inputs. So entrepreneurs need bricolage in order to take opportunity and overcome novelties. Bricolage can sometimes reach brilliant unforeseen results, bring a more constructivist perspective to the idea and is the combination and reuse of resources for different applications than those for which they were originally intended or used. I argue that in order to make progress in explaining an entrepreneur exploiting an opportunity and overcoming the novelties, bricolage is required that uses to explain how new firms succeed. In this paper I develop such a model. I establish a definition of bricolage and argue that bricolage is largely dependent on interpretation, heed, and improvisation associated with an entrepreneur.
