초록

그 영역을 확해해 가고 있는 교수공학은 그 정체성을 확립해야하는 과채를 안고 있다.이 논문은 Stolovitch， Kæ[lS， 및 Rodrigue(1995 )이 제안한 것처 럽 교수공학자( instructionaltechnologi앉)가 직업현장에서 행하는 엽무를 분석함으로써 교수공학올 이 해 하고， 이를 토대로 교육기관들의 교육과정 개선 방향을 제시하고， 나아가서 교 수공학의 정체성 확립에도움이 되기 위한 것이다. 본 연구는 최근 5년 간 미국에서 배포된 구인광고에 대한 내용분석 (∞ntent analy허s)을 함으로써 교수공학자에 게 필요한 수행 역 량〈∞mpetency)을 도출하였다. 수행역량의 연도별 추이， 직업종류， 교육계/기업체/바영리단체 간의 수행역량비교도 실시하였다. 구인광고가 분석 자료로 적합한지 검증하고 보충자료 수집을 위해 구인광고의 개발과 배포에 관여했던 사랍들에 대한 전화면접도 실시하였다.연구결과 요즈음의 추세를 반영하듯 원격교육에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있었다. 교수공학의 근간을 이루는 교수설계/개발， 실행， 평가에 대한 요구는 기관의 특성과 상관없이중시되고 있었다. 교육계에서는 매체활용기술과 교수/강의가술이， 기 업체에서는 교수셜껴l/개발， 커뮤니케이션， 경영， 컴퓨터기술이 강조되었다. 비영리단체는 교육계와 기업체의중간적인 특정을 보였다. 수행역량은 교육정도에 따라서도 차이를 보였다. lntemationalBoard of Standards for Training， Perforrnance， and Instruction(JBSTPI)의 수행 역 량과 비교결과도 제시하였다.

영어초록

The study identifies the comp:ltencies that are m:J.uired of instructional technologists byanalyzing pb p:>stings forwarded to an instructional technology department of a maprre;earch university in the U. S. over the p:lriod of five years. The study intends to discoveremerging trends in skill requirements that may be useful information for instructional technologyprograms in aligning their curricula to meet the needs of prospective employers,highlight new areas for research and development, and define the expanding boundaries ofthe IT field as it exists today.Content analysis method was used to analyze the pb p:>stings. Fm:J.uencies of oomp:ltenciesmentioned in the pb postings were calculated. Crosstabulation and Chi-S{Uare(x2) Testof Indep:lndent were also used in the analysis. Semi-structured interviews with employerswho were involved in the development and distribution of pb postings were used to supplementthe document analysis.Job postings included 367 from corp:>rate settings, 413 from education settings, and 47from not-for-profit organi2'ations, government, and military. A total of 93 competencieswere identified, which were clustered into 22 categories. Similarities and differences in comp:ltencieswere found across different settings. Overall, demand for web/online course experienceincreased over the years 1995 to 1999. The number of p:>Sitions requesting productionand computer comp:ltencies has declined in r􀃒nt years. Basic comp:ltencies such asanalysis, instructional design and development, implementation, and evaluation proved to bein high demand across settings. In business settings, instructional design and development,communications, management, and oomputer skills were found to be prominent In education,media skills and teaching/delivery skills were more in demand. Comp:ltencies for nonprofitorgani2'ations showed a similarity to both business and education settings; however, evaluation was more prominent than in other settings. Competencies requested also variEdstrongly 00sed on the Education level specified and the setting. A comparison with theIBSTPI competencies is also corlducted. A list of primary pb types and their related compe­tencies for instructional teclmologists is presented.
