How are you? Good. Today we are going to study lesson 12 early life experiences.-Lets look at the objectives though PPT.-After this class you will be able to understand the importance of childhood experiences and also you will be able to share your own childhood experiences.**Pre-reading-Now, let’s look at the power point. There are three pictures. Does anyone know who they are? Who are they? No one?-There are some clues in the picture. The woman has something in her arm.-Great! Peter said chimpanzee. Yes, she has chimpanzee in her arm and she is in a forest. Who do you think she is?-Jamie? Yes, She said that her name is Jane Goodall-How about the second person? He is black and what is he doing? Mi Jin? Good.She said that he is giving a speech. I guess he is famous for giving a great speech right?-Now, does anyone have any idea who the person is? Min Ji?-Min Ji said that he is Martin Luther King. She got it right.-How about the last person? Great. Su jin is right. She said he is Nelson Mandela.-These three people are all famous people. The reason for this is because they had unique experiences in their early life. We are going to find that out by reading the text.-First, I will have you read the text while listening to the CD. While you are following along, underline words that you don’t know. Alright, let’s start listening.-What were the words you don’t know?-Curse: is words that make people mad. They are usually really bad word.Sway means moving left and right left and right. This is caused by wind or other kind of force.**While-reading-Now that you know the words I will let you read once more. But this time you need to do the worksheet while you read. I will give you the worksheet.-Before we start, I will give you a clear instruction on how to complete the worksheet.-In the worksheet, there are three columns. First column has names of famous people, and second column is filled with experiences they had. And the last column is the result of the experience. You are to match each one with right element. Let’s do one together.-Now that you know, I will give you about 5minutes to complete the task.-Is everyone finished? Let’s go over the answer together.-Fabulous job!**Post-reading-For the last part we are going to do a group work together.-I will have six groups of five. You five are group one, You are group two, three, four, five , and six.-Now that you are all in a group I will tell you what you are going to do. Listen carefully.- One at a time, you are going to tell your group members one of your early life experiences. Next, you are going to tell them how it influenced you.- I will give you an example. When I was little I got to play school at my mother’s classroom since she was a teacher. It was really fun. This made me become a teacher.- Is the direction clear now? I will give you six minutes. After practice, some of you will come up front to present your experiences with others.- Did everyone get a chance to talk?- Do I have any volunteer? Great! Susan.- Wow, What did Susan say? When Susan was little her grandmother was really sick. This made her sad. So she decided to become a doctor.**Consolidation-Class, You all did great job.-I hope you had happy time learning.
