  • Shouldn`t Smoke Be Allowed on Campus?
Have you ever smoked in campus? Many smokers insist that smoking should be allowed on campus. However, I feel that smoking should not be allowed on campus. That is because there are many problems that include passive smoking, friendship and environment.First of all, many people can experience passive smoking. Passive smoking is as worse as smoking. Passive smoking is that nonsmoker breathes in cigarette smoke around smoker.

  • Diphtheria; A Nearly Forgotten Communicable Disease, 전영볌 예방에 관련된 에세이
Diphtheria:A Nearly Forgotten Communicable DiseaseHealth Education 5060International Health PromotionMinhong LeeNovember 21, 2013Diphtheria is currently a widely known infectious disease around the world. Diphtheria is not a major health concern to the majority of the population today due to preventative methods developed in the 1920’s. Diphtheria outbreaks are rare in developed nations due to a series of childhood vaccinations and adult immunization boosters recommended by the World Health Organization. Developing nations do not currently have adequate vaccination coverage and are the most susceptible to re-emersion of the disease.Health education programs and interventions regarding Diphtheria need to be implemented into many smaller societies throughout the world. Strategies could include: declaring correct and timely diagnosis by physicians, awareness of early symptoms in the incidence of an outbreak, education to the public who believe they are fully vaccinated but are not, and clease to become obsolete. Other countries in the world today do not have full access to the set of vaccinations and account for 80% of prevalence rates for Diphtheria (Raza, Nagalotimath & Achar, 2011). These parts of the world include Africa and Eastern European countries. Other populations susceptible to the disease are people with one or multiple chronic illnesses.Out of all developing countries who suffer from Diphtheria, India is by far the highest. In 2005 India reported 5,826 cases of Diphtheria which equaled to 71% of world wide cases that year. Most of the reported cases were in the developing area of Andhra Pradesh. The cases were most prevalent among Muslim women. The reasons were declared as lack of education on booster vaccinations and the low amount of booster coverage in the area (Bitragunta, Murhekar, Hutin, Penumur & Gupte, 2008).In 2008 there was a large outbreak of Diphtheria in Dibrugarh District of Assam. Out of the total Diphtheria incidences reported to the WHO frAdult,” a man in his thirties is mistakenly diagnosed with tonsillitis rather than his diphtheria. He is treated solely with antibiotics. This leads to a fourteen day hospital stay and a huge financial burden on his family (Raza, Nagalotimath & Achar, 2011).In India the median age for Diphtheria infection as of 2011 is five to nineteen years old. Health specialists know these statistics are correlated with the low amount of coverage for primary booster vaccines that should be distributed to teens in order to maintain immunization against Diphtheria. It was found that only 66% of the population of India had up to date immunizations. A future intervention was purposed to mandate vaccines in primary schools in order to reach the most children and adolescents (Bitragunta & Murhekar, 2011).It is important for adults to continue proper vaccination treatments every ten years to prevent Diphtheria. The longer a person continues without sufficient vaccination coverage the more susceptible they e patient with the correct amount of antigens to protect themselves from diphtheria.Complications for DTP immunizations happen in developing countries with high rates of low birth weight children such as; Sudan, Congo, and Gambia. Low income countries blame the DTP vaccine for negative effects on female survival. An observational study was performed among the areas of interest. It was found that the death rate ratio for low birth weight females was significantly higher than for low birth weight males. For every vaccinated female that died before six months of age, six unvaccinated females died before six months of age. The observational study proved that DTP vaccines were not the cause of higher female mortality. Among low birth weight infants females are about six times more susceptible to death than males in low income countries (Neal & Efstratiou, 2009).There are many myths about the DTP vaccination. Some cultures believe it kills low birth weight female babies and some cultures belest option to avoid hospital fines and potential life loss. Developed nations have to educate countries suffering from this disparity. India especially needs to find an appropriate method for distributing booster vaccinations.Health education interventions and availability of booster vaccinations need to be allocated throughout developing nations to allow the preventable yet highly contagious disease to become obsolete. Diphtheria is a not a wide spread disease throughout the world today but it would only take ten to twenty years of lack of booster shot to make everyone susceptible to the disease once again.CitationsBaratin, D., Signore, C., Thierry, J., Caulin, E., & Vanhems, P. • The Throughts of the Republic (Plato)
ENGL 3600U0745710 Minhong LeeFirst EssayMy Thoughts of the Republic. The Republic’s regarded as especially influential in politics and philosophy. Although it never became widely used, it was once viewed as the ideal nation.Plato’s primary focus was, “What is justice, and is it a goal worth pursuing?" Humans have not been able to live a solitary life since. As a species, it is way more efficient for humans to work together than alone; it is then reasonable to classify humans as social animals. Therefore, Plato’s “Republic” is divided into rulers, assistants, and laborers.Plato had a vision for his nation that contained four virtues. He envisioned a nation with wisdom, courage, self-control, and justice. In Plato’s mind this was how his ideal nation would be perfected.Plato’s republic theory was not to only talk about the ideal nation, but also of the Greek culture and their traditions. The republic blends in Plato’s Theory of forms and this theory contains education, economics, society, art, ethics, and philosophy. Because of its many desired traits and characteristics, the republic is a great work.Plato raised the evolution of epistemology and was very much a reality about the origin of a nation. Necessities were a driving force into founding a nation. One of the necessary organizations was to have a division of labor and specialization to accomplish objectives. In a more efficient and effective way, it was to build the independent knowledge system. The theory maintains that war was inevitable, and that the nation is responsible for the safety of its citizens. Warriors are needed to protect the nation and philosophers are required to control and lead the nation.Humanity is like a small organism; the nation can be viewed as multiple small organisms coming together to form a large organism. The success of humanity is based on numerous variables; the same is true for a nation. Human is soul performance related. Three classifications can be used to describe human performance; likewise, three characteristics can be used to describe the nation.First, the people are depending on personal needs, a composer. They represent two different estates with materials, and there are the economic underpinnings in the nation. However, they would not able to attend the rule, but they guarded by the guardian class, and diligent people can rise in rank.Second, the guardian class people are honor, courage; which they refer to as glory. They are striking the right balance between protecting the homeland security and protecting the civil liberties of the nation. They also value honor above parent; therefore, they are not allowed private property or family. Also, they think that man and woman are equal. Therefore, in this context the word “Feminist pioneers” agree with Plato. Finally, the ruler or philosophers are the top of the class. Their missions are to obey the spirit of legislation, and superintendence of education. In other words, they comprehensively research and study to search of the Idea. The idea of the good is philosophy’s wisdom by Plato. The goal of Plato’s ideal nation was to achieve purity and clarity. To be happy as a nation, all classes of people have to work toward a common goal. Correct behavior was required to achieve this goal, but producer or warrior cannot expect a goal, only philosophers. This is rule of philosopher s
