한･중 주식투자자의 투자성향 영향요인 (The Influence Variables of the Investment Tendency on the Korea and China Stock Investor)

초록

주식시장과 같은 불확실한 상황에서 투자에 대한 행동은 다른 소비재의 구매의사결정에 비해 좀 더 복잡하고 중요한 의사결정행동이라고 할 수 있다. 한국은 물론 중국에서도 주식투자가 활성화되면서 투자자 대한 이해와 보호가 더욱 요구되고 있는데, 투자자의 행동을 이해하고 보호하기 위해서는 투자자행동에 대한 예측이 필요하며, 이를 위해 투자자의 투자성향을 파악하는 것은 그 기초가 된다. 본 연구는 선행연구들을 토대로 한국과 중국 주식투자자의 성향을 결정하는 유의미한 변수들을 탐색하고 점검하는데 그 목적을 두었다.
본 연구의 실증분석을 위하여 선행연구들을 통해 연구목적에 맞게 수정, 보완된 총 10개의 변수가 사용되었으며, 한국과 중국의 주식투자자의 투자성향을 결정하는데 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인들을 살펴보기 위해 로지스틱분석을 실시하였다. 위험자산 수용여부의 정도에 따라 위험회피성향과 위험추구성향의 2가지 투자성향이 종속변수로 사용되었으며, 독립변수로는 크게 3가지 유형으로 총 9개의 변수가 사용되었다. 먼저, 투자자의 인구통계학적변수로 성별, 연령, 소득, 학력이 사용되었으며, 투자행태변수는 총 주식투자금액, 거래종목의 주당가격, 주식보유기간, 주식거래방법이 사용되었고, 마지막으로 투자자의 심리변수로 주식관여도가 분석에 사용되었다.
분석결과, 먼저 한국투자자의 투자성향에 유의한 영향을 주는 변수는 성별, 나이, 학력, 소득수준, 주당가격, 총투자금액, 보유기간, 관여도로 나타났으나, 주식거래형태는 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 구체적으로 남성일수록, 나이가 적을수록, 학력이 낮을수록, 소득수준이 높을수록, 거래주식의 주당가격이 비쌀수록, 보유주식의 총투자금액이 클수록, 주식보유기간이 짧을수록, 주식투자에 대한 관여도가 높을수록 위험추구성향이 나타났다.
중국투자자의 경우, 투자성향에 유의한 영향을 주는 변수로는 성별, 나이, 학력, 주당가격, 총투자금액, 관여도로 나타났으며, 소득수준과 주식보유기간, 주식거래형태는 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 즉, 남성일수록, 나이가 적을수록, 학력이 낮을수록, 거래주식의 주당가격이 비쌀수록, 보유주식의 총투자금액이 클수록, 주식투자에 대한 관여도가 높을수록 위험추구성향이 나타났다. 한국과 중국투자자의 투자성향에 유의한 영향을 주는 공통적 변수로는 성별, 나이, 학력, 주당가격, 총투자금액, 주식투자관여도로 확인되었다.
중국은 다양한 분야에서 꾸준히 한국과 비교 연구되고 있는 대상이다. 최근 중국은 금융시장의 개방을 확대하고, 주식시장 규모가 급성장하면서 중국투자자들의 투자행태는 금융행동 연구자들의 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 본 연구도 이러한 추세에 따라 한국과 중국투자자를 비교분석함으로 양국의 주식투자성향의 영향요인들에 대한 동질화 현상을 확인하고, 양국 투자자의 데이터를 사용하여 연구결과의 일반화를 시도했다는 데 시사점을 가진다. 또한 본 연구결과는 금융상품의 선택행동의 기초가 되는 투자성향의 영향요인을 점검함으로써 투자자의 투자성향에 따른 상품개발과 고객접근방법의 전략수립에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
본 연구는 한국과 중국의 특정 지역 주식투자자를 대상으로 분석하여 연구결과를 도출하였다는 데 한계점을 가지고 있다. 향후에는 연구대상지역을 확대하여 적용하고, 투자성향을 예측할 수 있는 다양한 변수를 탐색해 보는 것도 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다.

영어초록

Investment behavior in the stock market where the situation is uncertain is more complex and important decisions making behavior than other consumer purchase decisions. The understanding and protection for investor are more needed in China as well as Korea when stock investment is activated. The prediction of investor behavior is necessary in order to protect and understand the investor behavior. The identifying investment tendency for investor can laid the groundwork for molding the protection and understanding the investor behavior. Based on previous research, this paper intends to search factor affecting the tendency of Korea and China stock investors by using logistic analysis. Also, we investigate synchronization phenomena of investment behavior by comparing factors affecting the tendency of investors between Korean and Chinese investors.
For the analysis, the two types of investment tendency (risk aversion vs. risk seeking) is used as the dependent variables. Demographic variables (gender, age, income, education), investment behavior variables (total stock investment amount, the price of trading stocks per share, stock holding period, stock trading method) and psychological variable (involvement) is used as the independent variables.
The consequence of this paper are presented as follows : In the case of Korean investor, male investors show stronger risk seeking investment tendency than do female investors. The younger investors are, the lower they were educated, the higher the income level of investors is, the more expensive the price of trading stocks per share they invest, the more the total investment amount of shares, the shorter the stock holding period and the higher the involvement of equity investment, the stronger risk seeking investment tendency is showed. And in the case of Chinese inverstor, male investors show stronger risk seeking investment tendency than do female investors. The younger investors are, the lower they were educated, the more expensive the price of trading stocks per share they invest, the more the total investment amount of shares and the higher the involvement of equity investment, the stronger risk seeking investment tendency is showed. Gender, age, educational level, the price of trading stocks per share, total investment amount and involvement are identified as significant common variables that affect investor for Korean and Chinese.
In recent years, more and more savings and investment options are entering financial industry. The availability of more investment instrument with varied risk-return combination would make investors more choosy. This study is an attempt to understand the financial behavior of Korea and China stock investors in connection with the investment tendency. Managing a successful financial institution requires complete understanding of stock market and also the psyche of the individual investor. Under such a situation, it is hoped that the finding of this study will have some useful managerial implication for financial institutions in their product design and marketing and would be interest to individual investors.
