교과연계 진로교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 진로인식에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Subjects-Related Career Program on Career Awareness for Elementary School Students)

초록

이 연구는 초등학생이 교과 수업을 통해 자연스럽게 진로교육을 접해볼 수 있도록 교과와 연계한 진로교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 개발한 프로그램이 아동의 진로인식에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위해 수행하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 교과연계 진로교육 프로그램(15차시)은 2007년 개정교육과정에 따른 국어, 수학, 사회, 과학, 미술, 음악 교과수업에서 진로교육과 연계할 수 있는활동 및 재량활동 시간에 활용할 수 있는 진로교육 내용으로 구성하였다. 교과연계 진로교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 진로교육에 미치는 효과에 대한 검증을 위해 서울시 중랑구 소재 S초등학교 4학년 1개 학급 24명을 대상으로 교과연계 진로교육 프로그램을 적용하였다. 검사도구는 진혜영(2005)의 진로인식 검사지와 학생들의 활동 소감문을 사용하였으며, 통계해석 프로그램으로는i-STATistics를 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과수업과 진로교육이 자연스럽게 연계되어 정규 수업 시간에 진로교육과 관련된 활동을 수행할 수 있는 15차시 분량의 교과연계 진로교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 둘째, 개발한 교과연계 진로교육 프로그램은 학생들의 진로인식을 향상시키는데 긍정적 효과가 있었다. 진로인식의 하위 영역 중 ‘일과 직업 세계의 이해’에서 실험집단의 사후 평균이 42.58로 사전 평균 38.25보다 통계적으로 p < .05에서 유의미한 변화를 보였으며, ‘합리적인 진로의사결정’ 영역의 경우 사후 평균이 43.04로 사전 평균 39.63보다통계적으로 p < .05에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 활동 소감문에서도 대부분의 학생이 프로그램에 대한 긍정적인 반응을 보였다.

영어초록

This study was conducted to develop a program which will improve students’ awareness of career by achieving the learning goal and career investigation at the 4th grade class of revised curriculum 2007. The curriculum-related career education program was developed, based on education-learning process, with the materials from Korean, Mathematics, Social science, Natural science, and extra-curricular activity.
The subjects were two classes of 4th students from S elementary school in Choong-Rang-Gu, Seoul.
They were divided into two groups; the control group and the experimental group. The study was conducted from Sep 1st, 2010 to Dec 23th, 2010 throughout 16 terms of research.
In this study, quantitative evaluation with career-understanding questionnaire rearranged by Chung,Hye-Young(2005) was applied, In addition, qualitative evaluation with activity report and observation of student’s interest and behavior were also used. The result was analyzed through t-test with i-STATistics program which is made by Kim, Kyoung-Seoung(2008).
The result of analyzing the improvement of career-awareness is as following.
First, the average grade of the experimental group was higher than the control group at the subject of ‘the understanding of the job and career environment’(p < .01), the subordinate category of future career awareness, and ‘rational career decision making’(p < .05).
Second, the average grade of post test was higher than that of the pretest in the area of ‘the understanding of work and the career environment’([p < .05] and ‘rational career decision making’(p < .05)’in the experimental group.
The study conclusion based on the analysis result.
First, the curriculum-related career education program was developed for natural career education during normal class.
Second, the curriculum-related career education program was effective to improve the career awareness of 4th grade students.
Therefore, the new developed curriculum-related career education program will improve the awareness of elementary school students helping them to make rational decision. Besides, this will contribute for vitalizing career-educations in elementary schools.
