북중관계 연구현황에 관한 분석 (Current Situation of Study on Sino-North Korea Relations)

초록

이 논문은 ‘냉전시기 북중관계연구’에 대한 현황분석으로써 주요 연구동향과 쟁점, 기초자료의 발굴․해제 현황, 연구기관 및 연구프로젝트의 소개 등을 연구 범위로 한다. 최근 국제냉전사(國際冷戰史)에 대한 재해석 작업이 활발히 진행되고 있고, 이에 따라서 사회주의 국가간 관계 및 북중관계 역시 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다.
사회주의권 붕괴이후, 구소련 및 사회주의 국가의 북중관계관련 자료가 해제․발굴되면서 ‘다국사료간 교차비교분석’을 통하여 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 움직임에 따라서 중국관방도 관련문건과 당안관의 자료를 제한적이지만 개방하고 있는 추세이다. 특히 중국의 공식적 문건집, 회고록, 연보 등을 통하여 북중관계에 대한 연구가 시도되고 있다.
초기 연구자로는 히라이와 슌지, 이종석 등이 있고, 최근 한국의 신진연구자로는 최명해, 이상숙 등이 연구를 진행하고 있다. 이들 연구자들은 북중관계를 통시적으로 분석하고 있다. 또한 중국민간연구자중에서 한국전쟁을 연구하는 션즈화 등이 연구의 시기와 범위를 확장하면서 냉전시기 북중관계를 주목하고 있다. 미국, 중국 등의 연구가 문건발굴, 해제, 번역이 대규모 프로젝트를 통하여 다국사료간 교차비교분석과 중국자료수집이 진행되고 있다는 점에 착안하여, 한국에서도 관련 연구단 구성이 필요하다.

영어초록

This study examines current situation of study on Sino-North Korea Relations during Current Situation of Study on Sino-North Korea Relations during the Cold War and ranges through main research trends, issues, excavation and removal of basic data, and introduction of research institutes and projects. Recently, there has been a trend of actively reinterpreting Cold War International History, socialist country relations, and Sino-North Korea Relations. However, as North Korea and China have maintained traditional friendship as diplomatic faff and make public only the data that can support such official relations, any study on the relations is limited.
Since the collapse of socialism, as data on the Sino-North Korea Relations held by old Russia and other socialist countries was uncovered, studies have been made through multi-archival comparative research. According to such trends, the Chinese cabinet has tended to open only part of the data in relevant documents and archives. In particular, research on Sino-North Korean Relations has been made based on official documents from China, memoirs, and year books. The North Korean International Document Project, Woodrow Wilson International Center For Scholars, research on Cold War International History, and The East China Normal University have been highlighted.
Initial researchers included Hiraiwa and Jong-Seok Lee. Recent Korean researchers are Myeong-Hae Choi and Sang-Sook Lee. These researchers analyze Sino-North Korea Relations diachronically. As Shen Zhihua, a Chinese researcher, who studies the Korean War expanded the period and range of the study, a focus is given on Sino-North Korean Relations during the Cold War. A Korean study on Sino-North Korean Relations has a limit in understanding socialist hierarchy, multi-archival comparative research, and data collection. In considering that studies by the United States and China have been conducted through discovery, removal, and translation of documents, our country needs a research team for the study. Existing Korean studies has focused on security through a diachronic approach, more intensive studies are needed through a variety of approaches such as a micro-history approach and a socio-cultural anthropological approach.
