한·중·일 관광교류 및 관광경쟁력 비교분석 (A Comparative Study of the Tourism Exchanges and Tourism Competitiveness between Three Countries-Korea, China, and Japan)

초록

세계관광시장에서 괄목할 만한 성장을 거듭하고 있는 동북아지역은 한․중․일 세 국가를 중심으로 높은 주목을 받고 있다. 그러나 한국은 동북아지역의 관광교류시장에서 중국과 일본에 밀리면서 주도적인 역할을 담당하고 있지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한·중·일 세 국가간 관광교류 현황을 파악하고, 각 국의 관광경쟁력을 비교분석하여 한국의 관광경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 방안을 제시해 보고자 하였다.
연구분석결과 한국의 관광시장은 중국과 일본에 상당히 편중된 양상을 보이며 성장하고 있으나, 중국과 일본의 관광시장은 한국에 대한 편중성이 상대적으로 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 한·중·일 관광경쟁력 분석결과 일본, 한국, 중국 순의 경쟁력을 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 세부평가영역별 관광경쟁력에는 국가별 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 세 국가의 관광경쟁력 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 구체적인 관광경쟁력 강화 방안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다.
관광규제 틀 영역에서는 중국 관광객의 비자발급 완화, 저탄소 녹색관광 추구, 도로교통사고 방지, 관광산업 규제완화, 관광브랜드 및 마케팅 효율성 향상이 요구된다. 관광사업 환경과 기반구조 영역에서는 저가항공사 활성화, 고품질 철도관광상품 개발, 한·중·일 연계 크루즈 관광 활성화, 중저가 숙박시설 확충, 외국어 지원 서비스 가능한 IT 기반 관광 컨텐츠 개발이 요구된다. 관광인적 · 자연 · 문화자원 영역에서는 외국인 관광객에 대한 친밀성 향상, 비무장지대 생태관광상품 개발, 한류 문화컨텐츠 및 공연예술에 대한 국제적 차원의 관광상품화가 요구된다.

영어초록

Northeast Asia region, which has kept growing remarkably in the world tourism market, is getting great attention focused on three countries-Korea, China, and Japan. However, it was revealed that Korea was not playing a leading role in tourism exchange market in Northeast Asia, being overtaken by China and Japan. For such a reason, the current status of tourism exchange between three countries-Korea, China, and Japan-was studied, and a plan intended for strengthening Korea's tourism competitiveness was suggested by comparing and analyzing the tourism competitiveness of each country in this study.
The analysis results of this study indicated that tourism market of Korea is quite biased towards China and Japan in its growth; however, the tourism market of China and Japan is relatively less biased towards Korea. In addition, the analysis results of the tourism competitiveness of Korea, China, and Japan displayed that the competitiveness order was Japan, Korea, and China, however, it was found that the tourism competitiveness of each country is different from one another in detailed evaluation category. Based on such analysis results of the tourism competitiveness among three countries, a detailed plan for strengthening the tourism competitiveness focused on the key issues of each detailed evaluation criterion was suggested as follows.
Within the frame of tourism regulations, the easing of visa issuance for Chinese tourists, seeking low-carbon green tourism, preventing traffic accident on the roads, deregulation of tourism industry, and improving efficiency of tourism branding and marketing are required. In terms of tourism business environment and infrastructure, vitalizing low-cost airlines, developing high-quality railway tourism products, invigorating cruises in conjunction with Korea, China, and Japan, increasing low and middle priced accommodations, and developing tourism content based on information technology which enables foreign language support service are required. In terms of human, natural, and cultural resources, improving familiarity to foreign tourists, developing ecological tourism products in DMZ, and commercializing cultural content on Hanryu (Korean cultural boom in Asia) and performing arts at the international level are required.
