영아교사의 놀이 인식과 놀이지원 (Infant and Toddler Teachers’ Perceptions and Supporting for Infant and Toddler’s Play)

초록

목적 본 연구는 영아교사들의 놀이 인식과 놀이지원이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지 알아보는 데 목적을 두었다.
방법 이를 위하여 2020년 5월부터 7월까지 서울시에 소재한 어린이집에 근무하는 영아교사 7명을 대상으로 개별면담을 실시하고, 참여관찰 하였으며, 개별면담 자료와 참여관찰 자료를 분석하였다.
결과 연구 결과 영아교사들은 영아의 놀이를 선택과 자유가 있는 것, 즐거움을 느끼는 것, 자발적 탐색이 이루어지는 것 사회적 상호작용이 있는 것이라는 ‘놀이의 속성’으로 영아의 놀이를 이해하거나 가작화활동, 학습의 매개체, 혼자만의 몰입이라는 영아교사가갖고있는 ‘놀이의 이론적 틀’로 이해하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 영아교사의 놀이지원은 상호작용하며 지원, 영아가 놀이를 주도하도록 지원, 학습이 이루어지도록 지원, 마무리활동으로 유도 하는 것으로 나타났다.
결론 영아교사가 영아의 놀이를 이해하고, 효과적인 놀이지원이 이루어질 수 있도록 영아놀이에 대한 실제적인 교사교육이 요구된다

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to find out how play perception and support for play are being done by infant and toddler teachers, and what dilemmas they feel when they understand infant and toddler’s play and sup port for their play.
Methods For the purposes, from May to July 2020, seven infant and toddler teachers working at daycare centers in Seoul were interviewed individually, observed through participation in classes, and individual interview data and participatory observation data were analyzed.
Results The results of this study are as follows: first, infant and toddler teachers recognized infant and toddler’s play as a “attribute of play” that there are choice and freedom, joy and fun, voluntary search, and social interaction.
Inaddition, they recognized it as a “the theoretical framework of play” held by an infant and toddler teachers, which were a pretend play, learning, and immersion alone.
Second, supporting infant and toddler’s play, infant and toddler teachers were shown to interact with infants, sup port infants to lead play, support learning to be done, and induce finishing activities.
Third, it has been shown that infant and toddler teachers experience misunderstanding of infant and toddler’s play although they understand and support their play. As a result of misunderstanding and supporting infant and toddler’s play inappropriately, teachers feel dilemma of appropriate play intervention, play process and outcome.
Conclusions The result of the study suggest that infant and toddler teachers should be given many opprtunities (formal and informal) to improve understanding of the play and to support play effectively.
