초록

본고는 한국 사회 전체 인구의 2.8%가 넘는 140만 여명의 다문화 인구와 전체 초·중·고 학
생의 거의 1%를 향해가는 40,000명에 가까운 초·중·고 다문화 학생 및 2,000명에 가까운 북
한이탈 청소년 교육에 대비해 학교 도덕과 교육을 통한 보다 학문적이고 전문적인 다문화 윤
리교육의 방향과 방법을 개발할 필요성이 있다고 보아, 도덕과 교육을 통한 다문화 윤리교육
의 방안을 다문화 사회와 다문화 교육, 학교 다문화 교육의 실태, 도덕과를 통한 다문화 윤리
교육의 원리, 방법 등의 내용으로 다루었다.
2009 개정 교육 과정 이후 앞으로의 학교 도덕과 교육을 통한 다문화 윤리교육의 원리는
첫째, 한국 문화정체성 교육이다. 이는 현행 민주시민교육과 연계하여 한국인으로서의 문화
정체성을 갖게 하는 교육이다. 다문화 윤리 교육의 두 번째 원리는 다양한 문화에 대한 교육
으로 문화 간 국제 이해 교육〔다문화 이해 교육〕이다. 이에는 생명존엄 및 인권 교육, 다종
교 교육, 다중정체성교육, 소수자 교육, 융합학문〔학제적〕교육 등이 있다.
한편, 다문화 윤리 교육의 구체적 방법으로는, 첫째, 다양한 교수·학습 매체 및 방법을 모
색하는 것이고, 둘째, 다양한 다문화 윤리 교육을 위한 자료 개발 및 프로그램 개발을 통한
방법이며, 셋째, 가정 및 지역사회와의 연계를 통한 방법 및 체험 학습, 봉사활동 등을 통한
통합적인 방법이 있다.

영어초록

This article aims at trying to find out principle and method in multi cultural
ethics education in secondary and high ethics education. Up to now, the rate of
multi cultural family’s population are growing. Since 5years, they are 2.8% of total
population of Korea. The number of multi cultural students is almost 40,000 and
north korea defector students is almost 2,000 in Korea. In global world society,
there were several accidents related to ethnic conflicts. Recently in Korea, that kind
of accident occurred. In view of this, we need to make programs to unify various
cultures in secondary and high education. Besides, as a new school education’s
problem, the rate of school dropout is rising among multi cultural students and
north Korean defector students.
Until now, some programs for multi-cultural education carried out for secondary
school students by ministry of education, ministry of gender equality and family,
ministry of unification, and several public, private organizations. In their programs,
firstly, school multi-cultural education through subjects (Korean, social studies,
moral education etc.) in according to individual curricula, secondly, teacher
research study programs, thirdly, education for student of north korean defector
families.
In multi-cultural ethics education, there are several principles. Firstly, Multi
cultural ethics education is Korean culture identity education accorded with
democratic citizenship education. Secondly, Multi cultural ethics education is inter
cultural mutual understanding education〔multi cultural understanding education〕.
In that principle, human dignity and human rights education, multi religion
education, multi identity education, minority education, interdisciplinary education.
Now, multi cultural ethics education need to be enforced by various teaching
methods and skills, teacher research study, and international studies research and
professionalizing in University. In view of this, we need to make expert in
department dimension related to ethics in University. Before everything, it is
necessary to bring up expert for multi cultural ethics education. For this, it is
urgent to open lectures related to multi cultural ethics education something like
Asian Studies(including Korean studies), International studies, multi cultural
education strategies and so on in the department of ethics and ethics education.
And also, we need to manage many centers and institutes to educate and research
multi cultural and North Korean defector family students as a 1:1 exclusive
coordinator or consultant.
