IntroductionWe have learned and practiced employment relationship to solve and handle the conflicts, which are likely to bring the result of serious strike or lockout between employee and employer by applying theories and understanding theoretical definitions about employment relationship. Employees’ strike and lockout will be able to bring serious damages to the company or government.In modern society, a lot of countries in all over the world are given much more weight on human resource management is treated significantly in today’s business world. Story states that human resource management is a distinctive approach to employment of a highly committed and capable workforce. (Storey, 2001:17)During the second lecture, the differences between buying labour and buying normal commodities such as computer, car, house, food, furniture… are introduced and the most important difference between them is their relationship. Buying labour requires for managers to treat employees very carefully, he point of manager’s view; managers also seek for the flexibility, money as well, but among managers, some of them are much more focused on meeting organisational goal and targets rather than just make more dollars and cents. Of course productivity or improved selling skills can lead them to earn huge amounts of profits, nevertheless modern managers are more focused on increasing effective employment relationship of their human resource nowadays. It is true that the resources and techniques for supply more products are limited and usually it requires spending much money depends on each country’s internal or external working environments such as, cost of labour, natural resource, and develop supply techniques, on the other hand managing their human resource is essential to minimise their capital and maximise profits. It brings the result that the company or government to spend less capitals and gain more profits. Human resource management is important to all managers to avoid from hiricial, esteem, and self-actualisation. Assumes that the manger fails to manipulate what the employees’ needs, they won’t show up their best working effort in their workplace. Successful managers grasp that the right time for employees to take a rest or what is their next level to satisfy their needs and wants. (Bergman, 2003:345) Especially in today’s global world, the quality of people’s life is dramatically increased since late 20th century so that the people’s quality of wants and needs are increased, they need to spend more money to enjoy their cultural life, also they want more secure, more affection, more self-respect, more self-fulfilment as they believe that their life quality is higher than beforehand. To be a successful manager, satisfy the employees’ wants and needs in accordance with the changes of trends of routine life style is essential, because people’s needs are always symmetry with their life style so that the managers always need to observe them with carefulness. There were no places for students to study. The board of education should try to solve this conflict as a manager by compromising and negotiating, a process in which two or more parties try to resolve differences, solve problems and reach agreement, with employees. However unjustifiable reduction of wages were not the suitable way for employers to take the employees’ potential out to maximise profits from them. First of all, occupational health and safety can be defined as the physical, social and psychological conditions of an organisation’s workforce resulting from aspects of the work and work environment. Assumes that enough safety working environments are well prepared, or employees are enough trained and practiced, both of employers and employees would be able to obtain mutual benefits on their business-goals. This semester, we have studied several communication skills and have gained some experience through our lecture, workshop and tutorial sessions and our group activities. Our group consists four members. We have different background, experience, age, and culture. The task of our group is written group assignment and spoken presentation.Now first part of this essay, I will examine communication, written, spoken skills, which I learned through this semester and I provide my feelings, which I gain through our group meetings and lecture. The second part will explain about our group-spoken presentation.Part 1We have learned about written communication. Writing in business is important in a range of activities with quite different purposes. (Judith, D. 1993, p 232) The objective of business writing is to communicate with a message. (Wilkie, H.,2001,p9)I have studied about short and long report how planning and outline the report. Also I’ve learned about memo. Memo is used to describe the stanit made me very confused but after practicing some book reference. I was getting better and it was really helpful to me when I do the other assignment, however it still makes me confused.We had first group meeting for bibliography assignment in front of library. But some of our member was forgotten the meeting time so it was delayed. We did very simple discuss but it took a lot of times.Also we have learned about workplace communication. We studied about teamwork. We learned about advantages, disadvantages and role of the teamwork and team communications. A group in an organization consists of two or more people who work together to fulfill a particular task or to achieve a goal. (Dwyer, J., 1999, p346) When we were doing group or team working, communication skill, negotiation and leadership, which we learnt from lecture, is very important for success their performance. According to Lundy, (1994, p.75), understanding of a group’s goal is essential to its efficient functioning and commuefit of both. (Judith, D. 1999, p 92) Our team member was consisting of different nationalities and different thinking, so the negotiation skill is essential.The communication theories can help us to solve problems in our daily life. Communication is the foundation skill on everything in business. Especially successful communicators establish good working relationship with others. If we use appropriate communication theories, it can help us to improve our relationship with family, friends, co-workers as well as group members and solve problems in our daily life.Part2During this semester, we had a group-spoken presentation. Our topic was interviewing for employment purposes, which was chosen by us. All of our team members had a separate part and spoken for four minutes each. We divided the work according to the written assignment. It will be easier for us. For example I had done body part on the written assignment so presented the same part as I written. I did many practice speech beford that we relied on notes too many times. So it wasn’t so interesting to audience. According to Vicker & Hein (1999, p 110) analyzing your audience is a crucial step in preparing your presentation. So we should think about more our audience situation. For example our audience was lecturer and classmate, we should use easy words rather than complicated word because our most of our classmates are overseas student. Nest time, we can improve presentation skills if we pay attention to these points and try to talk to the class,Compared to other groups, there were a variety of styles used by other group presentations.First of all, one of the groups made a presentation by a play. They did role-play during the presentation se the audience could concentrate focus and they showed interest in the speech. It was easy to understand also the group members could hold eye contact with the audience.Secondly, some of the groups made a presentation by just reading even though it was against the advice. ThWikie,H., 2001,p39)I still have to do many meeting and individual or group presentations. To achieve success in a speech, I need to improve my speaking skill and I have to practice. Practice dose not always make us perfect but it surely makes us better and whenever you practice try doing it in a situation that resembles the actual speaking situation as much as possible. (Axtell,R.E.,1992,p23)For better speech I need practice like in real situations. Actually I have some handing anxiety and stage fright which is a serious problem, so I need more confidence and skill, and I need more practice to be able to relax. Also I should practice for presentations by talking in front of a mirror, a video or tape recorder, so I can test my voice and see my non-verbal communications.In conclusion, this essay focused on communication skills in group activities and presentations.
