    HSE Dept.Introduction Scaffolding is defined as the erection, alteration or dismantling of a temporary structure, specifically erected to support platforms. Scaffolds are commonly used for working at heights and there is the potential risk for a scaffolder (person working on a scaffold) to fall from an incomplete scaffold during the erection and dismantling of a scaffold. In particular, scaffolders can be exposed to fall hazards: • during the placement or removal of scaffold plants (internal fall) • from the open sides or ends of the scaffold (external fall) • in climbing from one lift of the scaffold to the next lift (climbing fall)Content Title Couplers Scaffold Components Type of Tie Type of Scaffold General Requirements Contents Other Type of Scaffold SummaryHSE Dept.Coupler (Fitting, Clamp) Right angle coupler are also known as a Double Coupler. It is used for distributing and spreading the load from the standard to the scaffolds foundation. Sole boards are essential except on completely level surfaces but base plates are necessary . Base Plate Sole BoardScaffold Components Platform (Scaffold Board) All working platforms and decking should be closely boarded to their full width and free from tr that they are wheel mounted. Wheels must be secured to scaffold and must have a positive lock to prevent unexpected movement. All materials and equipment must be secured or removed from the platform, and the scaffold must be unoccupied while moving it. Tragically, a serious incident can occur before steps are taken to identify and avoid or eliminate tool-related hazards. Introduction The following sections identify various types of hand and power tools and their potential hazards. They also identify ways to prevent worker injury through proper use of the tools and through the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.Hand Power Tools Hazards of Hand Power Tools objects that fall, fly, are abrasive, or splash harmful dusts, fumes, mists, vapors, and gases worn or damaged electrical cables, hazardous connections and improper groundingHand Tools SafetyWhat are the hazards of Hand Tools Hand tools are tools that are powered manually. Hand tools include anything from axes to wrenches. Long hair must be restrained All observers should be kept a safe distance from the work area Power Tool SAFETY RULESTo protect a worker from shock, these tools must: have a 3-wire cord plugged into a grounded receptacle or 2-wire cord socket outlet with earth line be double insulated be powered by a low-voltage isolation transformer L Check Double Insulation Power Tool SAFETY RULESPPE Requirements Grinding Face shield Fire Blanket Safety shoes As requested, ear plug PPE for grinding cutting workPower Tools When working with any power tools, always pay attention to your task!!!Electric Tools THIS WETAlways use the right wheel for the job you are performing. Be sure to match the “RPM Rating” with the tool. Finally, pay close attention any “special warnings,” that the manufacturer may offer, such as “do not use in wet or high-moisture conditions.” Abrasive-Wheel ToolsTo prevent cracking : fit the wheel on the spindle freely tighten the spindle nut enough to saw guards, especially retracting lower blade guard 8. Cut it straightCircular Saws 9. After the use of saw, it must be unplugged. 10. Hold the saw firmly, but Not too much downward pressure while cuttingCircular Saws 11. Never use a circular saw as a table saw. 12. Do not use s aw on uneven ground or uneven surfacesDrills Be sure the chuck is securely tightened to the spindle Tighten the bit securely and remove the chuck key Always hold or brace the tool securely and use any auxiliary handles if provided Don’t force a drill. (There was a sign on the machine where he must not put hands on the part) - Wearing cotton gloves can be very hazardous when using abrasive power tools (grinder, electric saw…etc) Root Cause - Poor supervision. The supervisor should orient his worker on what he will do and the equipment that he will use for the job. He must point out the hazards to the worker prior to work, especially if the worker is new to the job.Data : 2009.1 1. 18 Time : 10 : 5 0 (local time) Place : Piping Fabrication Area / Block 12-1 FAC Power Tools Accident_2 Warning Sign 'Do not touch'Data : 2009.1 1. 18 Time : 10 : 5 0 (local time) Place : Piping Fabrication Area / Block 12-1 FAC Power Tools Accident_2Data : 2009.1 1. 18 Time : 10 : 5 0 (local time) w}

    Manual HandlingManual handling is very common in the construction industry as a method for material transfer. Though mechanical means are available, it is not always practicable.The risk of injury can be reduced through training and application of correct lifting &handling techniques. <중 략>Q. What checks should you carry out before lifting? Where possible, establish the weight of the load before lifting Wear gloves to protect against cuts and punctures Wear safety shoes to protect from falling loads Carry out trial lift then Know your capabilities, how weight you can lift Can you handle the load yourself, do you need assistance?
