The city I researched is Boston. First of all, the reason why I chose here is that I have a plan to go there after this semester. So, I looked for all the information supposing that I am going to Boston a few days later. At first, I want to say about basic information of Boston. First incorporated as a town in 1630, and as a city in 1822, Boston is one of America's oldest cities.According to the site of city of Boston, there are around 590,000 residents. Also, as a capitol city of Massachusetts, it has a rich economic and social history. As well-known, there are many institutions of higher education such as Harvard University. In addition to them, we could find numerous cultural spots.This is the map we could find where Boston actually is. It is located along a Boston harbor here as you can see.This is the picture of Massachusetts State House. It was completed in 1798. It has a beautiful 23k gold dome. This dome is topped with a pine cone which symbolizes the importance of Boston’s lumber industry in the early days.As a city that has many prestigious educational institutions, Boston has a long history of education. In Boston, the first public school in America was established by Puritan settlers in 1635. Students with various socio-economic backgrounds attended Boston Latin School.As well, we could find Harvard University and MIT which all people may have heard of at least once in a life. Established in 1636, Harvard University has developed one of the finest educational institutions that many students all over the world want to enter in. Also you could visit MIT. In the campus, there is a lot to see such as The MIT museum and galleries.This slide is about historical places. This is Bunker Hill Monument. It stands at the site of the first major battle of the American Revolution fought on June 17, 1775. It was built to mourn and honor America’s army. Right picture is about USS Constitution which is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. It was first launched in 1797. The ships greatest glory came during the war of 1812 when she defeated four British. The ship was restored in 1927.Boston is also city of culture considering a variety of museums and galleries. Among them, for me Museum of Science sounds most interesting. The museum exhibits various seven topics such as natural world, space science, current science and etc. Apart from museums and galleries, Boston public library is a good place to visit. The library possesses 6.1 million books and a lot of rare items such as Shakespeare’s several first editions. Also we could visit galleries in the library.Now, what we can enjoy in Boston is harbor walk. Since it extends very long distance, you could see a variety of activities and beautiful scenery of the city. Along the harbor, you can relax walking.Another entertainment is Boston Duck tours, which are historic tour of Boston in a "DUCK", a W.W.II style amphibious landing craft that travels on land and water. You'll cruise by all the places. When you think the tour has done, the driver drives the DUCK right into the Charles River for a magnificent view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines. Now that I know where to go and what to do well in Boston, I think I will have a more fantastic holiday.

Even if it is easier than before, when people visit another country, they would like to go to see the capital city in the country at first. Since people think that the city is good for travelers’ convenience and enjoyment, they tend to choose the capital city. Among many counties which have been loved by many people, there are the United States and France. If we look at these two countries closely, there might be a lot of differences between them. However, Washington and Paris have many things in common as a capital city. In this essay, two famous cities will be compared in terms of political aspects, transportation and cultural spots.First of all, the two cities are the political centers of their counties. The president of the United States lives in Washington. DC, in the White House, likewise the president of France stays in Paris. The congress of the United States holds meetings in the Capitol Building of Washington. DC. Similarly, France has The French National Assembly in the Paris Bourbon of Paris. As we live in an international society, it tells us how important a role the cities are playing domestically or internationally. The two cities allow travelers to come and see their political history to some extent so that they can experience their own political atmospheres in person. The fact that travelers could see and get into those political buildings could be a nice and educational experience. During a holiday, we could even learn political perspectives from visiting political institutions.Second, both of the cities have well-equipped transportation systems. It is one of the crucial factors for many people to go to wherever they want without a waste of time. Especially, subways are used by many people in both countries. The Washington metro is the second-busiest rapid transit system in the United States in the number of passenger trips. The Metro network has five lines, 86 stations, and 106.3 miles of track. The Paris metro has 14 lines, 380 stations, and more than 211 km or 131 miles of track, and the Paris underground is Europe's second-largest subway system. People in both cities can easily have access to the subway, and it rapidly connects major places people need to get. Apart from the subway, other transportation means are easy to find. With frequent buses, we could enjoy vicariously the city lives watching from the bus. We can save our precious time and visit many places efficiently while travelling.Finally, those cities are full of magnificent museums and galleries. Washington has a short history which is only about 200 years old. In contrast, Paris has such a long history that started 2000 years ago. However, the two cities have many things in common because it is easy to find cultural spots there. In Washington, there are at least 19 Smithsonian museums including a variety from natural history to space. Paris is famous for its Louvre museum. In the museum, travelers could find worldwide collections from Asia to Africa. Apart from the museums that both cities have, there are also a lot of galleries. If you try to find where galleries are, you could easily get to them because a variety of galleries are everywhere. The National gallery of Art of Washington is one of the well-known galleries. In Paris, people could find the Hall of Mirrors one of the best galleries in the world. Similarly, both cities are mainly visited by people who love to see historical and cultural beautyAs cities loved by many travelers, it is obvious that each Paris and Washington, DC each have different attractions. However, despite the long distance between the two cities and cultural differences, they have many things in common as capital cities. Both of them have political roles since they have many organizations in them. Also, they also have well-organized transportation system throughout the city. So, it helps travelers’ easy and comfortable trips overall. Finally, they also have abundant cultural places to visit. Hundreds of museums and galleries are waiting for you to come. Tourism has become one of the most profitable sources a country can offer. Both cities are doing well to maintain their cultural abundances and accommodate travelers’ facilities in many respects, and those in turn make more tourists visit their countries.

2007102198Park heejinCan you believe that you can kill anyone only with your fingers or everyone can exert that kind of power with no effort? Well, it seems to sound nonsense at first but it can be easily possible online. These days, there have been controversial problems regarding online violence. We often misuse our online anonymity and sometimes it could cause serious situations we don’t intend to ever. It is not that difficult to come up with a few names of people who were the victims of online aggression. Around my dinner table, I would like to invite three people who suffered from malicious comments on them; Choi jinsil, Tablo and Park jaebeom. After the dinner starts, I will start to have a serious but hopeful conversation with them.Firstly, I could talk about the reason why didn’t they take any action immediately about it if the rumor about them was not what really happened. I will try to sympathize with them by telling them how I felt when I was in a situation where many people talk badly of me like Tablo and Choi jinsil or something was attributed to all my fault like Park jaebeom. The majority of people would regard those rumors as meaningless to counterattack at first or just will be panicked in a similar way. To make matters worse, the victims would get emotional and don’t know what to do. People starting to comment more bad things, the event finally goes to extremes. Do you think you can get out of the situation easily?At last, there were almost few choices left for them to choose. After some time they’ve been in that situation, they tried to explain what was true. She tried to speak out the truth sincerely, Tablo took the legal action to prove he was innocent and jabeom posted his opinion online. However, they all were rejected from society. As a result, they felt desperate and one of them ended up making a tragic choice sometimes. For example, Ms. Choi committed suicide not finding how to get out of the worsened situation. We can think of how disappointed we were when we felt betrayed from whom we believed a lot. We will be comforting and understanding each other at the table. Then, how can we make a difference in the situation of everyone easily being able to be in that kind of trouble?In our society, the probability that people are exposed to this indiscriminate online aggression is getting bigger and bigger. That is, it is not difficult to predict people will be able to be in the same situation. Since they’ve went through the worst situation compared to any other people, they could give some better advice for others to deal with the problem. At least, this could prevent some people from making bad decisions with their aid. Also going further we can think about what we can change for the better future. If there’s no way to keep it from happening completely, it is better to prepare for a wise alternative plan. Before finishing the conversation, we would make a toast for sharing honest stories together and better days to come.Malicious comments online or ungrounded rumors can harm people’s lives seriously whatever your first intention was. By inviting people who experienced it, we can talk about feelings when they were faced with the rumor and why they came to make bad choices. Also, we can also have a conversation about how we can prevent similar tragedies from occurring since anyone can be targeted of aggression. One of you family members will be able to go through similar situations. So, why don’t we be a little bit more careful before judging other people?

Problems, causes and colutions about credit card usage.

Imagine that you build your own house. No matter how the exterior of a building looks brilliant, unless it has secure columns it would fall down soon. Likewise if we are not prepared for the coming future, our ideal dream and happy family life would drift apart. Today I would like to talk about credit card usage in twenties. That is, if we try to make our consumption pattern reasonable since early ages, it would help us to build strong columns and firm house for entire life. According to the report “how undergraduate students use credit card” conducted in 2009 by Sallie Mae company which provides saving and paying for college programs, eighty-four percent of the student population overall have credit cards. Since credit card is an easy means to pay, we hardly notice how much money we are spending accurately, and it often gets immature youths in troubles. Therefore, we must first investigate the causes of reckless credit card usage; second examine the results of excessive credit card spending and finally, explore some solutions showing how to use credit card reasonably.
