1. Materials sourcing, Manufacturing and Distribution facility of E.D Smith in foreign countryE.D Smith’s one of representative product is Peach Mango Orange Jam. Recently, this product has issued in company because it has not showed good efficiency about prices and qualities. Therefore, E.D Smith should select outsourcing or offshoring in that situation. There are two problems. First thing is materials are expensive. Second thing is E.D Smith cannot make a good quality jam, and it can be serious crises. That is why our company has to choose outsourcing or offshoring, and we have to make a planning about purchasing materials, reduction of personal expenses and distribution channel.In my opinion, we should offshore investments in China because we can control easily about above things, and China is the most frequent supplier country. (International Sourcing) Peaches and oranges can easy to earn in China, and it has developed at distribution. Moreover, China has imported lots of mangoes fan earn around $90 per day, but in China’ average minimum wages is $2.5 per hour, and this is a quadruple than Canada. Moreover, China retirement allowance system and each kind of welfare system are good for our company. Therefore, we can make some profits through additional value.Secondly, we can save about reduction of material expenses because there are difference amount between Canada to China about purchasing materials. Besides, Kun-Shan of China has improved quickly now, and land of this place has cheap land value than other big China’ bid cities like a Shanghai. Therefore, we can ship easily to Canada and other countries through Shanghai’ distribution channel.Thirdly, we can make a great quality product. I already mentioned above. China has a good distribution channel about peaches, oranges and mangoes, and these things are popular foods in China so we can easy to get above fruits anywhere.Kun-Shan location is also very convenience for purchasing and selling because this place ile so we expect some good efficiency when we make some contracts.3. Differences in managing in a new countryE.D Smith must think about managing method when we select offshoring in China. Our company would send some residences to China. Fortunately, Canada has many Chinese people who want to work in China. Our company would maintain about China factory through monthly reporting and yearly reporting.Specially, sales part and purchasing part connect directly to profits so we must appoint Canada residents to above two parts because we should care about dishonesty. Besides, we should prepare about materials yield value program like an ERP system.Second things are calculating lead time and selecting residence’s period of working in China. We will export in Canada and other countries so lead time must be calculating and daily updating by managers. Sometimes, several residences commit an irregularity because anyone cannot control to residences, and it leads to wrong behavior. Therefore, we mus must study about each countries culture when we make some contracts, and sales people should receive well to do buyers. In China has a saying “Guan-Xi” that meaning is relationship. Therefore, we have to try becoming good friendship with Chinese buyers because most Chinese people highly regard about relationship, and sales parts should consider consistently about sales strategies.Secondly, main business is a purchasing. E.D Smith’s goals are reducing prices of materials and maintaining a good quality. Therefore, purchasing part is most important than other parts. Purchasing part would look for many great supply companies which are the safe companies, and they have to check about their factories condition with quality assurance team before choosing the supply companies. Moreover, this part must check about materials balance every day because any process lines can make some losses. Loss connect directly to money so we should manage product line through using a maintain sheet. Besides, peeds to help and maintaining. If workers have some problems, they cannot work hard, and it can lead to loss. I believe we can make huge profits when workers work in comfortable condition. Therefore, this part team should maintain a pleasant environment in company.Finally, main business is a quality assurance. The most valuable things are a quality in a company, and this is an E.D Smith’ one of goals. This part must review seriously when we check input materials, and we also review surely when products are output in company because products qualities are our company’ face and trust. If we maintain progressively about qualities, our Peach Orange Mango Jam going to be warmly received welcome from many countries.5. Chinese Culture and Korean CultureHave you ever been to China? I visited to China when I was working in company. In China has lots of people and long history. Surprising things are there are several similar things with Korea. That is a culture of the marriage, filial piety culture, and business culture because both countries are related to long history in Asia.Firstly, China’ culture of the marriage is very similar to Korea culture of the marriage. Many Chinese people should prepare marriage custom when they do a marriage because this is related to China culture. Weston people regard own individuality, but China and Korea regard family as important, so if I marry to someone, this would not become only my work. For example, men usually prepare a house, and women usually prepare domestic stuff when they will marry close to in the future. That is one of similar culture China between Korea. We know that is unfair, but both countries people are still follow own culture. Therefore, if I don’t have much money, I am difficult to find my wife. However, many China and Korea parents help to prepare a house for a son, and they like to interfere many things because both countries support to family’s important.Secondly, China and Korea regard to filial piety culture. One of the famous philosopher lived in China who name is “Kongzi”. He emphasized about filial piety culture, and it influenced to China and Korea. I had a grandmother, and she passed away last year. She lived with us together before she passed away. China and Korea young people are a lot of changing about thinking of filial piety culture because many western cultures come to them, and they support to individual life. However, many people also still want to care about parents, and they are doing that traditional. In my father case, he takes filial piety cultures for granted, and many Chinese old people do same with my father. Therefore, China and Korea has a similar culture that is filial piety culture.Finally, China and Korea have similar business culture. In China regard to relationship when they do a business, and China has one important word “Guan-Xi” that meaning is a relationship. Therefore, Chinese people like to make a friendship first before make a contract or business. Korea people also like to make good friendship when they meet some customers or colleagues. When I was worked in Korea, I met some Chinese business people, and I entertained them in Korea bar. We were drinking each other, and finally we became good friends. Actually, we did not like to drink much alcohol, but we just enjoyed that drinking party. Moreover, I prepare to some gifts for them, and they also gave us Chinese famous alcohol. These things are almost same business style. Therefore, we were became a good relationship fast, and I realized we have similar business culture China between Korea.In conclusion, I looked for the similar culture style China between Korea. There are culture of the marriage, filial piety culture, and business culture. May be both counties located very close, and we have related about long time histories that is why both countries are similar about some cultures. If I learn Chinese language more and more, I would make more Chinese friends, and it can lead to great success in the business.
