[감상문]How does ‘The Great Gatsby’ represent materialism and comm-

To understand in this novels materialism and commodity fetishism of modern culture, we should look into the social background. `The Great Gatsby` is a one of the valuable work. This novel talks about the worry that times have, and gives suggestions to the many readers which lives that era. The author, F. scott. fitzgerald participate the First World War, so in his work, we can see a slice of Ameraca that accumulates the wealth from the triumph of the war. Of course, The Great Gatsby is same as other piece of his ones. Through the Civil War, America can be placed the modern country. Because of the radical industrializations, the whole of traditional life style was changed. For the industrializations, the the power of influence of the tradition was weakened and materialistic wealth which can be get by victory of war was a catalyst to occur the new desire.

[인문어학]한미동맹

한 ? 미 동맹을 지속 될 수 있는가한 ? 미 동맹의 역사는 반세기를 넘어섰다. 이 반세기 동안 우리는 민주화라는 새로운 과정을 겪었고 사회 내부의 여러 가지 의견이 분출 될 수 있는 시점에 도달했다. 따라서 과거에 자유주의라는 횃불을 수호하기 위해 비판이나 반성없이 받아 들여지고 유지 되었던 한 ? 미 동맹에 대해 다시 한번 생각해보고자 하는 시도가 여러 곳에서 이뤄지게 되었다. 이와 동시에 한 ? 미 동맹 속에 들어있는 불평등한 조건은 한국의 젊은 세대들에게 큰 반항감을 안겨 주었고 반미의식을 고착화 시키는 역할을 하였다. 그리고 돈 어버도퍼 교수의 말에 따라 미국 정부는 오른쪽으로 한국 정부는 왼쪽으로 이념의 스펙트럼에게 이동을 함으로서 그 간극이 더욱 넒어졌다. 우리나라 일부에서는 이러한 간극이 발생하는 것에 대해 큰 우려감을 가지고 있는 사람이 있다. 이는 이념 대립의 발상지인 서구사회에서는 이미 아물고 있는 과거의 잔재들이 한반도 내에는 존재하기 때문이다.APEC때 방문한 미국의 부시 대통령은 ‘한국은 자유의 봉화대’ 라는 표현을 사용했다. 이 표현 속에 나타나 있는 것은 한국은, 아직 붕괴되지 않고 남아있는 사회 진영 (중국, 북한 등)에 대해 경계하는 중요한 위치에 있다는 점과 미국의 대(對) 테러 전쟁을 지원하고 협력하는 중요한 파트너라는 점을 나타내고 있다. 자본주의의 경제 원리를 가지고 있는 우리로서는 북한이나 중국이 경계의 대상임이 틀림없다. 하지만 이러한 경계는 얼마 전 현 정부에서 논의 된 전략적 균형자론에서 크게 축소 될 가능성을 보인다.중국의 경제가 급속도로 발전을 하고 있다. 그에 따라 대(對) 중국 무역량이 미국을 추월한 예에서도 우리가 중국이라는 거대한 발전 요소를 잠재하고 있는 국가와 현재 패권을 가지고 있고 앞으로도 그 패권을 놓치 않으려고 노력하는 미국 사이에서 관계 발전에 대해 고민을 하게 될 것이다. 또한 이러한 점은 군사적인 측면에서도 볼수 있는데 과거 미국 정찰기가 중국 전투기와 충돌하여 추락했던 사례에서 보아 미국은 끊임없이 군사적인 압박을 통해 중국을 견제 할 것이며 중국은 그 압박을 이겨내기 위해 노력할 것이다. 그러면 우리는 두국가 중에 어느 국가를 차후 발전의 파트너로 삼아야 할 것인가에 대해 의문이 생긴다. 현재 한반도 주변 정세를 보면 중국 러시아 북한을 중심으로 하는 대륙 세력과 미국 일본 대만을 중심으로 하는 해양 세력이 그 대립의 각을 보여주고 있다. 물론 아직까지 그 대립각이 표면적으로 보이지는 않지만 은근한 견제가 서로에게 적용되고 있다. 그럼 미래 한국의 선택은 어떠해야 하는가? 한 ? 미 동맹을 지속적으로 유지 시켜 미국이 구상하고 있는 신질서 속에 편입되어야 하는가 아니면 새롭게 발전의 날개를 펴고 있는 대륙 세력에 편입 되어야 할 것 인가가 우리의 숙제 이다.전략적 균형자 론의 요지는 중립국화 되는 것이다. 어떠한 세력에도 편입되지 않고 혹은 어떠한 세력에 편입 되더라도 다른 반대편 세력과 우호적인 관계를 만드려고 노력하는 것이다. 이러한 생각은 기본적으로 나쁘지는 않다. 하지만 강대국도 아닌 약간 어설픈 위치에 있는 우리나라가 중간에서 캐스팅 보트를 행사하겠다는 것이 과연 우리가 감당해 낼수 있을 만한 것인지는 모르겠다. 물론 이것은 스위스가 유럽에서 가지는 지위에 대한 성찰이 선행되었을 것이다. 하지만 시위스 시민들이 가지는 중립국으로서의 정체성이 우리나라에 똑같이 적용 될 수 있을지는 의문이다. 어설픈 중립국화를 추진하면 과거 대한제국이 추진했던 중립화처럼 강대국에게 이리 저리 이권을 넘겨주며 주권을 침해당하는 일이 발생할수도 있다는 것을 깨달아야 한다.

conclusion We can see a motive for making a play and Shakespeare makes us aware of his art. Language can be crucial to the interpretation of a dream. Unlike Shakespeare, he cannot find language to give shape to his dream. Bottom symbolizes for us the typical human plight in comic parody, in which his language can provide no concrete habitation. Thus the lovers and Bottoms effort to express their imaginary experience in a medium of language is extended to the performance of Pyramus and Thisbe. And the audience has to take an active role in creating the meaning of the play, not just watch passively. The virtue and energy of a play must be tested upon an audience. The actor stimulates his audiences leap of imagination by his performance, the physical act of doing something itself initiating the thinking process for the spectator. A play conveys meaning which is partly stated by what is done, partly completed by the thinking of the audience. In the ending of A Midsummer Nights Dream, we can see that the success and the failure of this play depends upon the audience. This play can be

Now we think about Pearls another meaning. Pearl is an intermediation between Dimmsdale, Hester. We can know that the scene which three persons stand on the scaffold at the night. Between Dimmesdale and Hester, Pearl connects each other. Pearl is a string two person get a same thinking. Of course the same thinking is a shame. I dont think Pearl is a real character. She is a just symbol, the scarlet letter. Scarlet letter doesnt mean Adultery, it means able, afford, angel. At the ending Hester comes back from Europe. And she lives her left life in the small-house alone,attaching scarlet letter. At this part, the scarlet letter is not a negative meaning anymore. Only symbol of the Hesters mind that thinks yearning for Dimmesdale

2. Appearances of the ghosts.Ghost only see to the Governess. First, she saw a man-Quaint- who stands top of the tower. Next she saw the ghost at the end of stair. At this point, we should think about some sort of things. When she met Quaint, Miles became an intermediary, when she met the Miss Jessel, Flora became an intermediary. Here, we can know the imagination of Governess making the being of ghost. Because she always thinks that is a ghost’s effect when she saw the children’s strange behaviors.
