This film is the first one which influence to America among the film of Miklos Jansco. Miklos Jansco invented the flowing camera walk to capture the continuously moving actor. This work was evaluated as inventing a Dialectical way for camera shooting. Hungary was the stable country to create the film during the cold war among the eastern bloc countries. When the Hungary establishes the “Bela Balaz” studio, they marched and chanted that country will support for the film business but not intervene to it. Hungary had free atmosphere to express their idea. That’s why Miklos Jansco can concentrate making the film. He showed solemn epic theatre style and announced the presence of Hungarian cinema film to the world. Hungary revolution was started from Budapest citizen who want freedom. They argued the withdrawal of Soviet troops in Hungary. Soviet Union considered this movement as breakaway from soviet intervention rights, so soviet undermined Hungary by put 1000 tank and 150000 soldiers. It means that this film was protesting to Soviet Union. The film was collaborated with Hungary and Russia but, Russian authorities refused to screen this film. This event was also meaningful to prove that this film is kind of protest. Actually, this film was mad to memorize the 50th of October revolution. But this film contained reality of the war, nationalist of Hungary rather than praising or celebrating for Russian te_Movement" o "White Movement" White Army, the loosely allied anti-Bolshevik forces. This time was peak of Russian civil war. Lots of foreigners were participated to Russian revolution and they support for it. A monastery and a field hospital are held by one side then the other. The red tried to get out the field hospital cause this place for the white patients. So the red wait for reinforcements from the near cavalry regiment. During this time the white Cossack broke into the house and then he force to the daughter to undress in front of her family. When she stands in the vast meadows, the woman seems in crisis and vein isolation compared to huge landscape. The white stared the woman’s body. It means the power of authorities can justification the men’s voyeurism to women. When the film shows the women’s back compared to men are showing their face, women looks extremely weakened identity. But the ironically, White Cossack officer kills a Hungarian and is executed by his own superiors when he tries to rape a milkmaid. This scene shows that the one man tried to show offthe extremely refined film. This paradoxical effect evokes the audience to sympathy of the horrible of war and consciousness. In the other scene, when the red and the white were stand face to face, we can observe the view at one sight. When the red forwarded to the white who were stand to the river, we can see the red were brave but weak to protest to the white. It’s like the red rushing towards to catastrophe and we can found the weak human being. When they shot with bang sound and collapsed with a gunshot, and the red looks like small dots and continuously disappeared, we can feel that human beings are so small compared to landscape. Ironically, our sympathy expressed from their death, we can expand our awareness to gruesome sights of war. And this idea was effectively expressed from the movie angle and extreme long shot of film.Through this film, we can understand the symbol of the background. Almost every scene is chasing and running away to hide. The value of the life and the deatar.
