  • Marijuana is a type of drugs and has several problems / 마리화나의 문제점 / 대마초의 문제점/ 대마초 영어 에세이 / 마약 범죄론
In the last few years Marijuana is a type of drugs that can be considered as one of the most commonly used of all. Most countries criminalize this as it is harmful to humans. However, still in today society of some countries allow this as they consider it as an individual’s right and freedom of choice. In addition, marijuana uses as several medical reasons. New Zealand is one of the countries that criminalize this and this should be banned for a number of reasons. This essay will discuss marijuana severely; uses as medical reasons, damages people’s health both physically and mentally, raises social relationship problems and also causes some people to commit crimes and make accidents. It is commonly used as some medical reasons in glaucoma, cancer and arthritis. Glaucoma symptom is that increasing pressure in the eyeball and if it is serious, could become sightless. However, smoking marijuana reduces pressure in the eyes and it is helpful to prevent glaucoma. According to the American Ca might be allow to use it for caring cancer patients. In addition, Marijuana has several beneficial effects on the immune system. Americans for Safe Access(ASA) reviews a number of studies that show “marijuana can be used to relieve pain and reduce symptoms of arthritis.” These cases are shown that marijuana can help to the patients of several types for several ways.On the other hands, marijuana has much more harmful for people’s life. Therefore, marijuana should be criminalized in New Zealand mainly according to people health issues. Especially in New Zealand, dealing marijuana is illegal, on the other hands smoking is not. This law makes people smoke marijuana much easier than other countries where smoking marijuana is banned. Marijuana causes variety of damages to people’s health both physically and mentally. Firstly, the chance of getting a heart attack is higher than non-smoking marijuana users. “When people smoke marijuana, it causes lower blood pressure and higher heart rate, thrways. Also “smoking marijuana can cause lung cancer”.(2012) Because marijuana contain carcinogenic hydrocarbons and when smoking marijuana, usually inhale deeper and hold it than cigarettes, so lungs are exposed to carcinogenic properties, when smoking marijuana.” Thirdly, “it can be inducing brain damages such as disorientation, impaired memory delusion and hallucination”. (Jon Gettman, 1995) These conditions may affect people who smoke marijuana extremely dangerous. The other way that marijuana is related to the several social problems such as accident, crime and relationship. As it was mentioned above, marijuana can damage people’s brain and brings the result of hindering to do a correct thinking. Even smoke a small amount of marijuana, the risk of accident is increased especially in driving. When people drive a car, they are requested many skills to get no accidents, such as react and concentration. However, smoking marijuana hinder to drive safety and make difficult to judge in dadents. (2011) In relationship, if there is someone, who is the one that does not smoke marijuana, it brings a peer-pressure in their society. Marijuana usually spread by friend’s recommendation to try. It can be separated to smoker and non-smoker in friendship. It can be a big problem when they become addicted to it, because it makes them to spend a significant amount of money on obtaining marijuana. A marijuana addiction needs much more money to get marijuana. If they have enough money, it would be no problem to smoke marijuana when they want to. However, if they have no money to get it, people would commit a crime to get marijuana. It leads to big criminal problems such as robber and murder. In conclusion, marijuana can use to treat disease such as glaucoma, cancer and arthritis. However, it is widely known that marijuana is harmful and dangerous in people’s health and it causes many problems such as accidents and crimes. New Zealand law prescribes the use of illegal marijuana relatinmore disadvantage than advantage, and according to this, it should be criminalized in New Zealand.ReferenceChad Stone, Ph.D. (2011), Medical reasons for marijuana. • Media and internet , 미디어와 인터넷의 상관관계
According to anti-humanists’ point of view, society has become more reliant towards to the use of modern technology as the power of the information became prominent. Steve Matthewman concurs with this argument as he states that people in information society tend to make human relationships by forming an imagined community through the internet. He also has a cynical view towards the transition in society as many people are having relationships with the modern technology. This indicates that people cannot sustain their lives without the modern technology. This essay will cover anti-humanists’ point of view on how technology affects the information society, how it is possible to form a relationship through the modern technology and lastly, elaboration of Matthewman’s statement about how people can be attached to modern technology, thus, having relationships with it.Anti-humanist' point of view, so called, technological determinism, states that technology changes the society and the behaviom those who live in the same village. Thus, the method of communication was limited. However, as the modern technologies such as the internet emerged, the method of communication was enhanced. A shift in society from the analog era to the digital era as brought positive aspects to our society because we feel less limited to interact with others. As Matthewman says "destroy the tyranny of distance, technologies can allow 24/7 communication and become novel forms of entertainment" (Matthewman 44). For instance, it was virtually impossible for an ordinary people to interact if they were further apart. However, with the help of the Internet, it is possible to communicate with each other such social network websites as Facebook. Skype is one of the mostly used software to do this as it is possible for people to video chat, which allow people to keep in touch directly over the internet. Having no geographical barrier also means people could form relationships with strangers. For example, Twngly believe that they are somehow connected to each other and have pride in the websites they belong. As people cannot communicate face-to-face, it removes prejudice. Unconstrained from social class prejudice, people have equality to work in various fields of activities. In addition, People have a limitation to meet friends due to limitation of space. Usually people are growing up in limited area, with limited People. Thus, they have rare chance to meet new people or gain new experience. However, imagined community solves this by providing more personal connections. For instance, in imagined community such as Facebook, there are billion users which allow people to have new relationships.Since the people in information society have grown up with the internet, the availability of the Internet has become mandatory. Anti-humanists argue that this change is society has brought out such technology as smart phones and tablets. As these devices, with the help of the Internet, affect the sequeonflict between imagined communities that hold similar characteristics. This trend can be seen within Facebook, where there is the non-ritualized users, who may be defined as not using Facebook without definite reasons, and ritualized users. For example, a ritualized user has invited a party on his Facebook wall. One of his friends, who are unable to see this invitation, could not go because of unawareness. The result is rift between two friends (Pugh 23). It is true that these two friends are in a different community, as their ways of communicating are different. This implies that Facebook becomes a habitual way of communication; the non-users would be left out and do not participate with the ritualized users. As people get ritualized with internet, it upsets to isolate balance in the offline communication between the online and the offline. As stated earlier, Facebook can be seen as the mostly used mode of communication on Internet. According to Villie Farah, immoderate dependent on occupational activities. One of the surveys from the nations top 1,000 companies state that "fifty-five percent of executives believed that time surfing the internet for non-business purposes is undermining their employees effectiveness on the job" (Robbert Half International, 1996). These are the revealed problems which are related with internet in several fields further, anti-humanisms problems what how we over-depend on the internet. In conclusion, as society has developed, people rely on technology and modern technology became an important part of our lives. Matthewman says "the technological determinist position has been referred to as anti-humanist because humans are a secondary consideration to technology (Matthewman 35). People are having relationships both through and with internet in many ways, and it is true that people are becoming a secondary consideration. These examples; geographical barrier erase, imagined community, internet ritualized and internet addiction show the wa

  • Mao ze dong life & 모택동의 업적과 실패 & 모택동은 천재인가 아니면 괴물인가
It is well known that Mao Zedong is a hero in China. In fact, the portrait of him in Tian’anman Square is a representation of the respect that Chinese people have towards him. Mao Zedong was a politician, revolutionist, soldier, and a communist. He had achieved several significant historical events in Chinese history and these events contributed to china both positively and negatively. Therefore, several assessments can be made from his achievement. Deng Xiaoping who was a politician leader of the communist party after Mao Zedong died said “Mao was 70% right, 30% wrong.” In fact, Mao Zedong achieved important events such as creation of the People’s Republic of China and reformation of Chinese characters. However some of his policies failed and led to many deaths in the event of Great Leap Forward and the Culture Revolution. This essay will discuss and assess Mao Zedong’s both positive and negative contributions to China. One of the greatest Mao Zedong’s contributions is the unification istory. The purpose of the policy was to create a modern communist society and to increase production of agro-industrialization from 1958 to 1960. In 1957, Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev, who was the general secretary in the Soviet Union, announced that “the soviet union’s agro-industrial production would overtake USA in 15 years”. Mao Zedong was receiving impetus from the announcement of the Soviet Union. He also stated that “China would surpass the production of England by going all out in a concerted effort in 15 years”. He believed that people’s revolutionary passion could lead the Great Leap Forward successfully without support of the Soviet Union and capitalist. However, this proved to be incorrect. During this period of time, China had lack of developed skills for creating elaborate goods so he had to exploit people for production. According to the Mao Zedong’s order, “the peasants installed smelting blast furnaces in the back yard and started to product irons and steels”. But thteal the peasant’s agricultural effort. Therefore, people hunted sparrows in near extinction as much as possible according to the Mao Zedong’s order. However, he missed some important aspects. On the other hand, sparrows also can help to remove harmful insects for the crops and it lead to grow crops very well. During the season when a large number of sparrows were exterminated, many people suffered from hunger and even died. After all, he had failed to successfully enforce these policies; therefore his political position was threatened in influence. Due to opposition from people, he started the Cultural Revolution to maintain his position in the Chinese communist party. His lack of consideration associated with many deaths from his failed policies shows he is not a genius after all.If The Great Leap Forward is known as a big disaster that gave a tragic result of victimizing many people, Cultural Revolution can be described as another big disaster that brought a regrettable result both ity for education, traditional ethics and cultural heritage. While the revolution was on the progress, a formal education was regarded as needless, but it only emphasized the importance of Mao Zedong’s communist idea. Therefore, a number of intellectuals and people in the city had to go to the rural areas to work and learnt Mao’s logic or died. “It brought the consequence of decreasing the educational level in China, which caused social problem such as the economical gap between people in the city and rural area in recent China”. In addition, Mao excluded traditional ethics from his idea. It destroyed and dragged the morality down from remote Chinese historical habit. The Red Guards were in the forefront of destruction of traditional ethics, as they criticized and reported counterrevolution forces even their parents or teachers. It was impossible to happen in China before the Culture Revolution had occurred. Furthermore, a number of significant historical heritages in China were destroived in an equal society. That is why he is still treated as a hero by many Chinese people. However, his negative contributions could not be forgiven to several fields so that is a reason why he is a monster rather than a genius.ReferenceChen, Ping. “Language in society.” Modern Written Chinese in Development 22, no. 4 (1993): 505-537Fengyuan, Ji. • The Korean war can be seen as a surrogate world war and cold war
From the past, the Korea peninsula was a significant strategic location. Thus, when the Korean war erupted, two superpowers, U.S and the Soviet Union, intervened into the war turning the Korean Civil War into a proxy war. The reason why the Korean War has been taken into concern as a global issue is that it held potential to become a major active battle. The Korean war was initially a civil war but it can be viewed as a surrogate world war due to reasons that include: the intervention of foreign nations, the common battle between ideologies during the period, a controversy in the armistice negotiation and the ICBM missile`s potential threat on a global scale.<중 략>A proxy armistice negotiation also presents the Korean war as a proxy war. There were a few errors along with this negotiation. One of which was the fact that "the democratic side of the armistice was to be processed by the supreme commander of UN forces “Ridgway”, rather than a representative of South Korea". The negotiation was mostly processed by the representative without South Korea`s input. This shows that the Korean war was created by the intervention of the superpowers. The two superpowers` invisible control made the Korean war into a surrogate world war, and intervention from other countries led to expansion of an implicit world war.
