The length of the literature are not really long but we can see and research lots of thing in the various factors and accident in the literature. These various factors that make us think deeply about the fundamental meaning of them maybe contribute a lot for the literature to be pointed as the great work until now even though it was written very long time ago.To summarize the plot of the book, one man, named of Good Youngman Brown, goes to the journey of the forest with one companion, leaving his loving wife Faith, and faces lots of accidents and people in the forest. They journey is not absolutely the things preferred from Good Youngman Brown and he constantly have an intrinsic conflict about the continuing of the journey. The journey's final destination is witch meeting and on the way to go there, he meet many people whom he usually depend on mentally and have a great credence to like the minister. Finally he notice that his loving Faith even discarded her faith about good and went there to worship devil through discarded pink ribbon, and lose his faith about the good in the life. He resultingly accept the evil and take the staff and giving and inspiration of horrid blasphemy like demons around him in witch meeting. After the meeting, he come back to his home and fall asleep. He don't assurd that his night journey is real or just dream but he lives rest of his life very unhappy.Many people and scholar threw the question in very that part. In the literature, Young Goodman Brown wake up and don't assurd that it was a real. Therefore many people's arguments are seperated about the reality of jorney. Some said it was a real journey and others are it is jus his imagination. But for me, I think it was unconscious dream. And the reason Young Goodman Brown don't leave his town is he hasn't any definite experience that his faith is destroyed. Through the characteristic of the journey, we can explain the journey of forest defined as unconscious dream with the Interpretation of Dream which is the philosophical theory of Sigmund FreudSigmund Freud insist that the dream is the place where our suppressed desire are expressed powerfully. In the conscious level, people steadily suppress their lots of dark desire to show only their good feature to society. However, there is good and evil in the world and both of them are naturally inherited to human. So Everybody have good and evil in their unconscious level and we can answer about fundamental question about human nature. Anyone can be defined as naturally evil or naturally good. Also as people's hidden desire are displayed through their dreams, if we interpret the dreams, we could understand about human in the deeper level.Therefore we can understand Young Goodman Brown more with the interpretation of his journey of forest as unconscious dream. In the aspect that the journey was the unconscious dream, the forest where the journey is processed can be regarded as inward unconsciousness. In the forest, he was constantly tempted by his companion about using staff featuring snake. The staff symbolize the serpent that tempted Adam and Eve to eat fruits of the tree of knowledge (of good and of evil) and devil's stuff. Young Goodman Brown agonized whether to use the staff and it symbolize he agonize to choose between good and evil in unconscious level. Their destination was evil and the environment that his all of faith and people he have faith embrace the evil and became proselytes are drive him to the extremely evil situation. Maybe these all evil factors and designed situation are the eruption of Young Goodman Brown's evil human nature.In Conclusion, we can see that Young Goodman Brown was always concerned the evil in the unconscious mind. However, Goodman Brown's 'good' is literally the normal people. Therefore as the Freud said, people even included us always have a evil nature with the good nature. According to Sigmund Freud, there is no person who is absolutely devil or angel. Every nature of human manifest through the human's conscious effort and atmosphere surrounding them. So, before we know it, our that nature will be expressed in unconscious level like the literature.
