AI Is a Key to Prepare Aging SocietyArtificial intelligence(i.e., AI) is a field of computer science that tries to make a thinking machine. It was developed rapidly around the World War II. To win the war, the army should break enemies’ codes and get confidential information. If you don’t know the rules of the code, it would take millions of hours to decode. The attempts to make a faster calculator to decode are the beginning of making AI. The AI is used in many industrial fields such as a car, biometrics, and tough work fields. AI should come into wide use to prepare an aging society.The autonomous car is the first step to prepare an aging society. It is a self-moving car that does not need a driver. Instead, it needs a special sensor to drive itself. It measures the distance between things and detects danger without any blind spot. If every car in the world is autonomous, it can communicate with each other through the Internet. So the possibility of the car accident can be decreased remarkably. These days, the number of car accidents caused by senior drivers is increasing because of their cognitive aging. If autonomous cars are commonly used, even though you became older, you can ride your car without worrying.AI increases the development speed of biometrics. In biometrics, the deep-learning system is essential because it is useful when classifying the information. It can find patterns among numerous information and sort data like human sorting things. Now, this technology is so developed, even AI can find a cat in youtube video without any information about a cat. This is a good news to the family of missing children. Even though they lost kids a long time ago, the computer can infer the change of appearance through time flowing. In China, a missing child was actually able to go back home with this high-developed biometrics of AI. And this is also promising technology in a criminal investigation.AI robots can do tough things instead of a human. In Korea, some jobs have these properties are called 3D fields; Difficult, Dirty and Dangerous. Such as cleaning, textile, mining are the sort of 3D field. Those jobs are essential for people to live civil life, but they are avoided because of their difficulty and low payment than the effort. So there were many attempts to substitute human. For example, a researcher of sewage treatment in MIT didn’t want to take sewage samples by himself which splashing sewage to his body. So he developed a robot that taking sewage samples. This robot is now used in various cities like Boston, Seoul, and Cambridge to take sewage samples which are used in analyzing the potentiality of influenza.AI is used much widely in various fields. In an aging society, it can be a breakthrough to prevent many accidents. The autonomous cars can decrease the number of car accidents by communicating with each other. It will be easier to find the elderly who have Alzheimer’s disease by using biometrics. Just like robots’ substitution human in 3D fields, robots can also be an answer to decreasing the number of workforce in the world.
