GFP is the first fluorescence protein that found in fluorescence jellyfish (Aequorea Victoria) by Simomura Osamu, the Japanese Scientist. How could jellyfish shine? Fluorescence is a visible light emission phenomenon when electron is excited by light and go back to the ground state, which most of electrons go down stairs energy level with heat.
