1. Explain the difference between interpretation and translation.
Time & Location
In translation situation source and target readership can be different in time and location, but in interpretation situation, the activity is performed within the same time frame at the same location except in tele-interpretation situation

순간성과 반복성(an instant and repetition)
The text can be read repeatedly but the utterance can be disappeared instantly.
글은 이해가 안 되면 반복해서 여러 번 읽을 수 있지만, 말은 내뱉는 순간 사라져버린다.
호칭 (the name)
While the text is usually formal and indirect, the utterance is used the personally and direct name. therefore the utterance is more familiar and more efficient.
글은 주로 공식적이며 간접적인 호칭을 사용하지만 말은 개인적이고 직접적인 호칭을 쓴다. 그러므로 말이 글보다 친근하며 커뮤니케이션 효과가 높다.
moreover the interpretation can help the listener`s understanding with gesture, a look and tone etc. more than translation.
묘사성 말은 몸짓,표정,어조 등 언어 외적 요소를 사용하여 청자의 이해를 효과적으로 도울 수 있다.
문장의 길이와 표현(the length and expression of the sentence)
Generally, the utterance is shorter and simpler than sentence. and if we translate from the utterance into the text, it would be more and less incomplete.
말은 문장이 짧고 단순하고 쉬운 경향이 있다. 말한 것을 그대로 글로 옮기면 부자연스럽거나 불완전한 문장이 되는 경우가 많다.
