Chapter 1 : A few words about futurism and How we will get to the Dream Society
What`s coming next is the Dream Society. It`s a new society in which businesses, communities, and people as individuals will thrive on the basis of their stories, nor just on data and information. The Dream society is not so far off; its signs have begun to appear in many of the world`s businesses. this book show you what the dream society is, why it is coming. what if will mean, and how to thrive in it.
Here are a few basic assumptions we as futurists have made that will help you begin to apply dream Society logic th your business today.
1. the future pays you a daily cist!
2. the days of the information Society are numbered.
3. whatever can be automated, will be automated.
What follows is an example of haw Dream Society logic is being used today.
In denmark, eggs from free-range hens have conquered over 50 percent of the market. they desire eggs to be produced under the technology and methods of our grandparents-the old-fashioned way. this means that the become more expensive but consumers are willing th pay more for the story animal ethics, about rustic romanticism, about the good old days. this is what we call classic



Human emotions are getting more important in Dream Society than in industrial society or information society where the value of material goods was important. Thus, future products under economies of scale will not be able to create added value any more, so they should be the things that are able to appeal to emotions to be competitive in the market. Following this logic, the author of the book says that if we want to win in the market of the future, we should respect stories in the market and we should be a storyteller to have our own story.
Future is the world of emotion or of stories. Some stories like folk tales passed down from the past are commercialized, and some characters in fiction are revived into modern myths. Moreover, the film based on a true story has made a hit, and people just listen to something sensational and special. It means that Dream Society has come one step forward to us.
