昌寧姓氏族譜의 山圖製作과 地理認識에 관한 硏究 (A Study on the Making of the Mountain Map in the Genealogical Record of Changnyung Seong Clan and its Geographical Perception)

초록

族譜類에서 山圖製作은 17세기 중후반 父系中心의 宗譜가 나타나면서 宗中의 결속과 위계질서를 유지하기 위한 방편으로 시작되었다. 이들 족보류의 산도는 참여계층의 성리학적 세계관과 풍수적 지리관을 풍부히 담고 있으며, 그림지도와 산론山論이라는 매개체를 통하여 표현하고 있다. 특히 18세기 초에 제작된 『昌寧成氏族譜』에 삽입된 산도는 초기 산도제작의 특징을 살필 수 있는 자료인 동시에 그 당시의 성리학적 세계관과 풍수적 지리관을 알 수 있는 자료이다. 『창녕성씨족보』의 산도는 전통 산도제작기법인 제목, 그림지도, 산론의 3단 구성되어 있으며, 그림지도의 전체적인 구도는 풍수적 이상공간을 형상화하는 전통 산도제작기법을 충실히 따르고 있다. 산론은 그림지도와 연결되어 산도에서 담고자하는 내용을 풍수적 시각으로 설명하고 있다. 또한 『창녕성씨족보』 산도에서는 산도제작의 목적을 기록하고 있는데, 이 기록은 조선시대의 족보 참여계층이 갖고 있는 산도제작 의도를 검증하는 중요한 자료가 된다. 또한 ?창녕성씨족보?의 산도는 묘지설화와 연결되어 風水形局을 완성하고 있다. 이와 같이 묘지설화가 산도와 연결되어 하나의 풍수형국을 만들고 있는 것은 宗法意識이 산도를 통하여 표출된 것이라 할 수 있다.

영어초록

The making of the mountain map in genealogical records started in the late 17th century when patrilineal genealogical records made their appearance. It was intended as a way to solidify the clan and to maintain its hierarchy. The mountain maps in the genealogical records were rich in the Neo-Confucianistic world view of the participating class and in the Fengshui geographical ideas. Those perspectives are well depicted through the medium of mountain maps and mountain discourse. In particular, the mountain maps inserted in 『the Genealogical Record of Changnyung Seong Clan』 compiled in the early 18th century not only show the characteristics of mountain maps in their initial stage, but also offer an opportunity to understand the Neo-Confucianistic world view and the Fengshui geographical ideas of the time. The mountain maps of ?the Genealogical Record of Changnyung Seong Clan? are composed of the 3 parts of title, picture map and mountain discourse - the traditional technique of mountain map making. The overall framework of the picture map is faithful to the traditional method of mountain map making, which describes the ideal land space of Fengshui. The mountain discourse gives explanations on content mountain maps intended to offer in association with picture maps in a Fengshui perspective. In addition, the mountain maps of ?the Genealogical Record of Changnyung Seong Clan? laid out their purposes in making the maps, which represent important information in identifying the intentions of the participating class that made the mountain maps in the Chosun Dynasty era. Furthermore, in connection with grave legends the mountain maps of 『the Genealogical Record of Changnyung Seong Clan』 complete the land composition of Fengshui. The fact that grave legends are combined with mountain maps to bring about a Fengshui land composition suggests that the idea of clan rules is expressed by means of mountain maps.
