초록

본 연구는 자원봉사동기와 사회자본 간의 관계에서 자원봉사활동만족도의 매개역할에 분석의 초점을 두었다. 분석자료는 진주시복지재단에 소속된1년 이상의 자원봉사자를 대상으로 실시한 설문조사이다. 최종분석수는 203 부이었고, 표집방법은 지역별 할당표집이다. 그리고 위계적 회귀분석 및Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 매개효과 검증을 활용하였다.
본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 타인지향 동기와 자기지향 동기모두 타인신뢰, 기관신뢰, 사회적 네트워크와 자원봉사활동만족도에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다. 그리고 자원봉사활동만족도는 사회자본의 각 구성요소에 영향력이 가장 큰 변수로 나타났다. 둘째, 자원봉사활동만족도는 타인지향 동기와 타인신뢰, 기관신뢰 간에서는 부분매개역할을, 타인지향 동기와 사회적 네트워크의 관계에서는 완전매개역할을 수행하였다. 셋째, 자원봉사활동만족도는 자기지향동기와 타인신뢰, 그리고 사회적 네트워크와의 관계에서는 완전매개역할을, 자기지향동기와 기관신뢰의 관계에서는 부분매개역할을 수행하였다. 따라서 타인지향동기와 자기지향동기가자원봉사활동만족도를 통하여 사회자본에 미치는 영향의 경로가 다를 것이라는 가정은 일정부분 지지되었다고 할 것이다. 이러한 분석결과에 근거하여 사회적 자본의 증진을 위한 이론적, 실천적 논의가 제시되었다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between motives of volunteers and social capital, focusing on the mediating effect of satisfaction in volunteers’activities. The data for analyses were collected from returned survey that had been sent to volunteers who were associated with jinjusi welfare foundations over 1 years. 203 questionnaires were analyzed finally and the sampling method is a regional quota sampling. This study utilizes hierarchical regression analysis and verification of the mediating effects of Baron and Kenny (1986). The main results of this study are as follows. First, the analysis shows that both altruistic and self-oriented motivations are significantly associated with other people's trust, institutional trust, social network and satisfaction in volunteers’activity. And the satisfaction in volunteers’activities is the most influential variable in explaining each component of social capital. Second, the satisfaction in volunteers’ activity plays the role of a partial mediating effect in the relation between altruistic motivation and trust for others and in the relation between altruistic motive and institutional trust, and plays the role of a complete mediating effect in the relationship between the altruistic motive and social network. Third, the satisfaction in volunteers’activity plays the role of a complete mediating effect in the relationship between self-oriented motivate and trust of others and in the relationship between self-oriented motive and social network, and plays a role of partial mediating effect in the relation between self-oriented motive and institutional trust. Therefore, it is partly verified that the paths of mediating effects of satisfaction in volunteers’ activity are different by motives of volunteer. Based on these analysis results, theoretical and practical implications for the promotion of social capital are suggested.
