지능정보시대 영재교육의 패러다임 전환: 거래적 영재성에서 변혁적 영재성으로 (A Paradigm Shift in Gifted Education in the Intelligence Information Era: From Transactional Giftedness to Transformational Giftedness)

초록

본 연구에서는 지능정보시대 영재교육의 패러다임 전환의 방향성을 모색하기 위해 거래적 영재성과 변혁적 영재성(Sternberg, 2020)의 개념과 발현체계를 심리학적 근거를 기반으로 심도 있게 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 거래적 리더십과 변혁적 리더십 이론에 기초하여 거래적 영재성과 변혁적 영재성에 내재된 원리를 도출하고, 두 영재성의 개념을 체계적으로 재해석하였다. 또한, 거래적 영재성과 변혁적 영재성의 개념에 대한 다측면적 설명적 프레임워크를 수립하고, 두 유형의 영재성의 발현체계를 4P(person, process, product, press)를 중심으로 심층적으로 탐구하였다. 먼저, 영재성의 발현주체인 거래적 영재와 변혁적 영재의 인지심리학적 특성을 가치, 신념, 목표 및 동기적 발현기제를 통해 정교하게 분석하였다. 구체적으로, 발현주체의 발현기제는 가치(수단으로서 일의 의미 vs. 목적으로서 일의 의미), 신념(고정 마인드셋 vs. 성장 마인드셋), 성취목표(수행목표 vs. 숙달목표), 생애목표(자기지향 목표 vs. 사회지향 목표), 그리고 동기(통제성 동기 vs. 자율성 동기)로 구분하여 다측면적 관점에서 분석하였다. 조직심리학, 교육심리학과 자기심리학을 포함한 심리학적 이론을 기반으로 거래적 영재성과 변혁적 영재성의 발현과정과 발현결과를 심도 있게 탐구하였다. 마지막으로, 거래적 영재성과 변혁적 영재성의 발현기제, 발현과정 및 발현결과에 따라 달라지는 영재성 발현환경의 기능과 의미를 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 학술적, 실제적 함의를 논의하고 향후 연구의 방향성을 제안하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the concepts and mechanism systems of transactional giftedness and transformational giftedness (Sternberg, 2020), which are profoundly based on psychological constructs, in order to suggest the direction of a paradigm shift in gifted education in the intelligence information era. For this, this study drew on the internalized principles of transactional and transformational giftedness based on transactional and transformational leadership theory, and reinterpreted the concepts of the two types of giftedness. Also, this study built a multidimensional explanatory framework for the concepts of transactional and transformational giftedness, and investigated the mechanical systems of the two types of giftedness, focusing on the 4Ps (person, process, product, and press). First, the cognitive psychological characteristics of transactional and transformational gifted individuals were elaborately analyzed based on their values, beliefs, goals, and motivation. The multidimensional characteristics included values (methodological meaning of work vs. purposeful meaning of work), beliefs (fixed mindsets vs. growth mindsets), achievement goals (performance goal vs. mastery goal), life goals (self-oriented goal vs. society-oriented goal), and motivation (controlled motivation vs. autonomous motivation). This study investigated the mechanical processes and products of transactional and transformational giftedness based on psychological theory including organizational psychology, educational psychology, and self psychology. Finally, this study explored the function and meaning of mechanical environments that differ according to mechanical predictors, processes, and products of transactional and transformational giftedness. Theoretical and practical implications and future directions were discussed.
