청각장애학생의 통합교육에 대한 문제점과 개선 방향 (A Study on the Problems and Improvement Direction of Current Inclusion Education for Students with Hearing Impaired)

초록

본 연구는 일반학교 담임교사를 통한 청각장애학생의 통합교육 문제점과 개선 방향을 알아보고자 수행되었다. 본 연구를 위해 일반학급 초등학교에 근무하고 있거나 근무 경험이 있는 담임교사 4명이 참여하였으며, 개별 심층 면담 방법으로 이루어졌다. 이에 따른 본 연구의 결과를 유목화하여 의미 분석 및 해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통합교육환경에 있는 청각장애학생의 학교생활에서의 적응 정도에서는 청각장애학생이 같은 반 청인학생들과의 진정한 소통을 원했으나 실제는 의사소통의 어려움으로 인하여 한계를 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청각장애학생에 대한 담임교사의 인식에서는 일반학교 담임교사는 일반학급에서 청각장애학생을 지도하는데 있어서 자신의 능력이나 한계를 인식하고 있었고, 이에 따른 다양한 시도가 필요함을 나타냈다. 셋째, 통합교육의 문제점과 개선 방향에서는 일반학교 담임교사는 청각장애학생 교육에 있어서 현실에서의 많은 어려움과 한계를 뛰어넘고자 하는 노력이 필요함을 자각하는 동시에 이에 따른 현 국가지원에서의 문제점을 지적하고 청각장애학생을 위한 보다 전문적이고 확대된 특수교육 지원과 환경 개선이 필요함을 나타냈다. 따라서 국가는 보다 효율적인 청각장애학생교육을 위하여 전문적인 인력 양성 및 배치, 그리고 다양한 교육자료 개발 및 지원과 더불어 일반학교 담임교사의 전문성 향상을 위한 전문적인 연수 및 특수교육 지원, 교사 업무 환경 개선 등에 보다 많은 노력을 해야 할 것이다.

영어초록

This study was conducted to find out the problems of full inclusion education and the direction of improvement of the hearing impaired students through the general school teachers. For this study, four teachers who are working in general elementary schools or who have working experiences of teaching the students with hearing impaired were participated in and the study was conducted by individual in-depth interview methods. and as the results, The results of this study were nominally analyzed and interpreted the meaning as follows. First, the degree of adaptation of the school life of hearing impaired students in full inclusion, it has been shown that the hearing impaired students wanted true communication with the students without hearing impaired in the general class but they felt the limitation because of the difficulty of communication. Second, the teachers’ perception of hearing impaired students indicated that the general school teachers recognized their own abilities or limitations in teaching the hearing impaired students in the general class, and they felt that various attempts were necessary accordingly.Third, in the direction of improvement and problems of full inclusion education, the general school teachers recognized the need of efforts to overcome many difficulties and limitations in the education of hearing impaired students, and they also pointed out the problems in the current government supports and they indicated the need for more specialized and expanded special education supports for the students and environmental improvement. Therefore, the government will have to make more efforts to train and place professionals for more efficient education for the students with hearing impaired, and to develop and support various educational materials, as well as to offer the professional training and the special education for the enhancement of the professional skills for the general teachers in charge in general schools, and to improve the teacher's working environment.
