유치원 포트폴리오 평가 수행 과정에서 나타난 교사의 경험 (Teacher Experiences in the Procedure of Portfolio Assessment Performance)

초록

본 연구는 교사가 포트폴리오 평가의 과정을 수행하면서 나타나는 어려움과 그 어려움을 어떻게 대처하여 극복하는지를 밝히고, 포트폴리오 평가의 경험이 교사에게 어떠한 가치를 깨닫게 하였는지 밝혀 현장에서 포트폴리오 평가가 효율적으로 적용되는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 대구광역시에 위치한 C병설유치원의 만5세 학급의 담임교사인 윤교사를 연구참여자로 하여, 12회의 참여관찰, 12회의 심층면담, 그리고 연구참여자의 포트폴리오 평가 수행과정을 포함하는 유아작품, 평정척도, 체크리스트, 일화기록, 저널, 사진, 동영상자료, 자기평가 및 또래 평가 등을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 자료분석은 수집된 자료의 전사, 분류와 분석, 해석, 분석 결과의 확인으로 이루어졌다. 연구결과 첫째. 윤교사는 포트폴리오 평가 수행 과정을 통해 유아들의 지겨워함, 기록하기의 어려움, 평가자로서의 지식부족 의 어려움을 겪었고, 이를 해결하기 위해 스스로 연구하기, 한마디 중심으로 기록하기, 다양한 매체 활동하기 등의 전략을 사용하였다. 둘째, 윤교사는 포트폴리오 평가 과정을 수행하면서 포트폴리오 평가가 교사뿐만 아니라 유아에게 가치있는 경험이 되었다는 것을 깨닫게 되었다. 교사에게는 개별 유아와의 친밀감 형성, 부모와의 신뢰로운 관계 형성의 가치가, 유아에게는 자기평가와 또래평가의 기회를 제공한다는 가치가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영어초록

This study aims to find an effective way to apply portfolio assessment in the real class through analyzing the value of the portfolio realized by the teacher trying to understand children and then performing the portfolio assesment.
The participant for the study is the annex kindergarten teacher in charge of a class for 5 year old children in Dae-gu. Collection of research materials include 12 participant observations, 12 in depth interviews, children's work, assessment measures, check lists, daily registers, journal, pictures, video materials, self assessments and so on including participant for the study's procedure of portfolio performance assessment. Participant observation and interview file are recorded and made as data, and than, data are analyzed by transcription of collected materials, classification and analysis of materials, translation of materials, and confirmation of result of analysis.
The result of the study is as follows:
First, there are a lot of difficulties in making a portfolio assessment to assess understanding of children. This is the aim of the process of portfolio assessment. Teacher Yoon started the portfolio assessment with the researcher's suggestion. Teacher Yoon observed kindergarten children to know their levels and progress, and found that children were bored because the assessment time had taken too long in the short schedule of kindergarten. Teacher Yoon realized the lack of knowledge as an assessor through performing the portfolio assessment.
Second, Teacher Yoon realized that the process of portfolio assessment was a valuable experience not only to the teacher but also to children. In performing procedure of portfolio assessment, teachers improve their understanding of individual children, which can subsequently be reflected in their teaching plans. Through considering, understanding and caring about individual children, the teacher can become friend and trustable relationship with children and also with their parents. The children can think the way that reflecting on children's conduct, and reflect their assessment by oneself, be interested in other children and compare, actively interact, imitate other's thoughts and moreover, grow and develop their own idea.
