천도교의 새로운 사회운동 방향성과 과제 (The Direction and Challenge of the New Social Movement of Cheondoism)

초록

이 논문의 목적은 천도교의 새로운 사회운동의 방향성과 과제를 찾는 것에 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 사회운동의 정의와 21세기에 맞는 사회운동의 방향성을 알아봤다. 천도교가 나아가야할 새로운 사회운동 방향은“신 사회운동”이다.
이 논문의 내용은 천도교가 나아가야할 새로운 사회운동의 방향성이다. 기존의 통일과 민주화 운동을 “구 사회운동”이라 했을 때, 신 사회운동은 이와다른 평화, 환경, 인권, 노동에 초점을 맞춘다. 특히 평화운동, 환경운동, 인권운동, 노동운동과 같이 추상성이 높은 운동이 아닌 각 운동영역에서 구체화된운동을 시행해야 한다. 예컨대 평화운동은 통일운동, 갈등관리, 정부경제 운동으로, 환경운동은 기후변화, 황사/미세먼지대응, 환경보전, 인권운동은 성소주자, 페미니즘, 난민, 동물복지로, 노동운동은 갑을관계, 감정노동, 일자리문제, 학생주거문제로 구체성을 높인 주제로 향해야 할 것이다. 또 다양한 이슈와 시의적절한 주제에 적극 대처해야 한다. 단순히 한국의 특수한 사항만을 염두에 둘 것이 아니라 전세계 차원에서 보편성을 획득할 수 있는 운동이면 더욱 좋다. 또한 특정분야의 운동이아니라 모든 소외받고 있는 이들의 편에서 상대성 약자 또는 사회 약자의 입장을 대변하며 동물과 자연까지 아울러야 한다.
이 논문의 결과는 천도교가 나아가야 할 새로운 사회운동의 과제다. 천도교의 새로운 사회운동 방향이 신 사회운동이지만 현재 천도교 상황에서는 이방향으로 가는 데 있어 사람이 부족하다. 단순히 교인의 수가 적다는 차원이아니다. 새로운 운동을 기획하고 지위할 전문성직자가 적고, 운동을 참여하는 일반교인이 적다. 전문성직자와 일반교인의 양성과 재교육을 위해 교육기관을 설립해야 한다. 교육기관 설립과 운영은 물론 새로운 사회운동을 하기위해서는 자금이 필요하다. 천도교의 현재 자금 사정으로는 이 모든 것을 시작도 하기 어렵다. 교육기관, 전문성직자, 운동자금을 위해서는 조직의 역할과 성격을 개편해야 한다. 이 개편을 위해서는 천도교유지재단의 정관 뿐만아니라 교헌까지 개정이 필요하다.

영어초록

The purpose of this paper is to find the direction and challenge of the new social movement of Cheondoism. To achieve this goal, researcher looked at the definition of social movements and the direction of social movements that fit into the 21st century. The new social movement direction that Cheondoism should move forward is the "new social movement". The content of this paper is the direction of the new social movement that Cheondoism should move forward. When unification movement and democratization movement is called the "old social movement," the new social movement focuses on peace, environment, human rights, labor and etc. In particular, movements that are materialized in each sphere of motion, not such as the peace movement, environmental movement, human rights movement and labor movement should be implemented. For example, a unification movement is movement towards peace, conflict management and the government's economic activity. A environmental movement are climate change, fine dust and dust storm response, conservation. A civil rights movement are feminism, LGBT,refugees, animal welfare. And a labour movement is “gabeul(갑을)” in relationships, an emotional labor, student housing problem. It should also actively deal with various issues and timely topics. It's better just not only about Korea's special issues, but also about issues that can achieve universality at a global level. It should also represent the position of the relative weak or the socially disadvantaged on the side of all alienated persons, not the movement in a particular field. Futhermore also the animal and nature as well. The result of this paper is the challenge of a new social movement that Cheondoism should move on. Although Cheondoism's new direction of social movement is a new social movement, the current situation of Cheondoism lacks members to go in this direction. It is not simply a small number of people in the church. There are fewer professionals to plan and position new movements, and fewer ordinary teachers to participate in the movement. Educational institutions should be established to foster and re-educate professionals and ordinary teachers. Money is needed to establish and operate educational institutions as well as to launch a new social movement. Under the current funding situation of Cheondoism, it is difficult to even start all of this. For educational institutions, professionals and activist funds, the role and nature of the organization must be revamped. The reshuffle requires the constitution amendment of cheondoism as well as the articles of association of the Cheondoism Foundation.
