어린이집 적응과정에서 영아기 자녀의 어머니가 경험한 어린이집 지원의 의미 (The meaning of supporting child care centers experienced by mothers of infant child in the process of adapting to child care centers)

초록

목적 본 연구는 어린이집 적응과정에서 영아기 자녀의 어머니가 경험한 어린이집의 지원이 무엇인지 알아보고, 이것이 어떤 의미를갖는지 탐색함으로써 영아기 적응프로그램과 부모교육의 내용과 방향에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다.
방법 이를 위하여 영아기 자녀를 어린이집에 보낸 경험이 있는 어머니 5명을 대상으로 반구조화된 형태의 심층면담을 실시하였다.
총 5주 동안 각 3회씩 면담을 실시하였으며, 면담은 회당 30분~1시간 30분 정도가 소요되었다. 면담의 내용은 모두 녹음하여 전사하였다. 전사된 면담의 내용은 개방코딩 방법을 사용하여 이를 범주화하고, 질적으로 분석하였다.
결과 연구 결과 첫째, 어린이집 적응과정에서 영아기 자녀의 어머니가 경험한 어린이집의 지원은 ‘처음인 부모와 아이에게 정서적지원하기’, ‘부모 역할과 자녀 양육에 대한 정보 지원하기’였다. 둘째, 어린이집 적응과정에서 영아기 자녀의 어머니가 경험한 어린이집 지원의 의미는 ‘부모와 아이 모두에게 처음이었던 과정의 문턱 넘어서기’, ‘함께 키우는 우리 아이’로 나타났다.
결론 어린이집 적응 과정은 영아뿐만 아니라 부모도 함께 적응해나가는 과정으로 어린이집에서는 부모와 자녀 모두에게 개별적인요구를 수용하는 정서적 지원을 통해 신뢰감을 형성하여 안정적으로 적응해나갈 수 있도록 해야 하며, 각 가정의 상황에 맞는 자녀양육과 부모역할에 대한 정보를 제공함으로써 부모와 함께 협력하여 영아의 안정적인 적응을 위해 노력해야 한다.

영어초록

Objectives The purposes of this study were to examines the child care center support experienced by mothers of infant children in the adaptation process, and by analyzing what it means, we wanted to provide basic data on the contents and direction of infant child adaptation programs and parent education.
Methods For this study, a semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted with five mothers who had sent their infant children to child care centers. The interview was held three times each for a total of five weeks, and it took 0.5 to 1.5 hours per meeting. All the contents of the interview were recorded and transcribed. The content of the transcribed interviews was categorized and qualitatively analyzed using the open coding method.
Results First, the study found that the support of child care centers experienced by mothers who send infant children to child care centers in the adaptation process is ‘Emotional support for the first-time parents and children.’, ‘Supporting information about parental roles and child-rearing.’ Second, the meanings of that support are ‘Crossing the threshold of a process that was first for both parents and children.’, ‘Our children that we raise together.’.
Conclusions The adaptation process of child care centers is that not only children but also parents adapt together, and child care centers should build trust through emotional support that accommodates individual needs for both parents and children so that they can adapt stably. In addition, by providing information on child-rearing and pa rental roles suitable for each family's circumstances, it is necessary to work together with the parents to ensure stable adjustment of the infant.
