경상남도 후계 수산업경영인 현황 및 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Status and Characteristics of Successor Fisheries Managers in Gyeongsangnam-do)

초록

현재 국내 수산업계는 고령화·공동화에 의한 인력 부족, 기후 변화에 따른 수산 자원 감소, 메가 FTA의 위협 등 향후 지속가능한 경영을 장담할 수 없을 만큼의 총체적 위기에 처해있다. 이에 본 연구자는 국내 대표적 식량 산업인 수산업의 영속성을 지키고 경쟁력을 강화할 방안 중 하나가 수산경영업체 최고경영자의 성공적인 세대교체라고 판단하여 일련의 연구목적을 가지고 후계 수산업경영인들의 가업승계에 관한 다각도의 연속적 연구를 진행 중이다. 경상남도 남해안 7개 시·군(통영시, 거제시, 고성군, 사천시, 창원시, 남해군, 하동군)에서 대(代)를 이어 가족기업을 승계한 후계 수산업경영인 152명의 현황 및 특성을 분석한 본 연구는, 그 도입부에 해당하는 내용으로 장기적 연구 진행에 있어 반드시 필요한 부분이며 이는 향후 연구의 방향을 제시하는 기능을 갖는다. 연구 방법은 연구대상자들을 직접 대면·비대면(유선 통화) 방식으로 만나 설문조사와 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 설문지는 연구자가 면대면으로 직접 수거하였기에 152부 모두 분석에 유효하게 사용할 수 있었고, 현장에서 창업주와 후계자를 직접 만나 심층인터뷰한 내용은 설문 조사 분석 결과 해석에 참고하였다.
본 연구의 구체적인 내용은 다음과 같다. 성별, 연령, 세대, 회사의 업력, 근무 연수, 학력, 전 거주지, 전 직업, 사업소재지, 연령과 사업지 간의 관계, 업종, 사업지와 주력 품종 간의 관계, 업력과 주력 품종 간의 관계, 경영 조직 형태, 직원 수, 연 매출, 업종과 매출 간의 관계, 매출과 주력 품종 간의 관계, 사업지와 매출 간의 관계, 가업승계의 중요성 인식, 가업승계 방식에 관한 내용을 파악하였고, 그 응답 결과를 빈도 분석과 교차 분석하였다.
본 연구는 수산업의 가업승계 문제를 다른 연구가 전무한 상황에서, 후계 수산업경영인을 대상으로 한 최초의 연구물이다. 이러한 시도는 본 연구가 가진 나름의 의미와 차별성이라고 판단한다. 끝으로 본 연구가 국내 수산업의 지속가능한 경영 도모를 위한 성공적인 가업승계 장려 방안에 일조하고, 후계 수산업경영인들이 위기에 처한 우리 어촌지역에서 유능한 리더로서 역할 하는데 기여할 수 있는 학술적 자료가 되기를 희망한다.

This study identified the current status and characteristics of 152 successor fishery business managers who succeeded to family businesses in 7 cities and counties(Tongyeong-si, Geoje-si, Goseong-gun, Sacheon-si, Changwon-si, Namhae-gun, and Hadong-gun) in the southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do. Currently the domestic fisheries industry is facing a total crisis that cannot guarantee sustainable management in the future such as a shortage of manpower due to aging and hollowing out(I.e. the relocation of younger generations), a decrease in fishery resources due to climate change and the threat of Mega-FTAs. Therefore this researcher judged that one of the measures to protect the continuity of the fishery industry which is the representative food industry in Korea, and to strengthen its competitiveness is the successful generational change of the CEO of a fishery business, and conducted a series of studies on the succession of the family business of successor fishery business managers with a series of research objectives. Research is still in progress.
This study, which corresponds to the introductory part, presents a basic analysis to understand the current status and characteristics of successor fishery operators and fisheries operators. Although it is not the result of applying in-depth statistical analysis techniques, this content is an essential part of long-term research.
As for the research method, the survey was conducted by meeting the research subjects in a face-to-face(include phone calls). Thus, all 152 copies could be effectively used for analysis. In addition, the researcher met the founder and his successor in person at the site and conducted an in-depth interview, which was used as a reference for interpreting the results of the survey analysis.
The specific contents of this study are as follows. Gender, age, generation, company history, years of service, education, previous residence, former occupation, business location, relationship between age and business location, type of business, relationship between business location and main product type, relationship between work experience and main product type, type of management organization, The number of employees, annual sales, relationship between industry and sales, relationship between sales and major varieties, relationship between business location and sales, awareness of the importance of family business succession, and family business succession method were identified, and the results of the frequency analysis and cross-analysis were analyzed.
This study is the first targeting successor fishery managers in the absence of other studies on family business succession in the fishery industry. This attempt is judged to be the meaning and differentiation of this study. Finally, it is hoped that this study will contribute to the successful family business succession promotion plan to promote sustainable management of the domestic fishery industry, and contribute to the role of successive fishery managers as competent leaders in regional fishing villages in crisis.
