초록

2018년 남북정상회담, 2019년 하노이 북미 정상회담의 결렬과 뒤이은 판문점 북미 정상의 재회 등 한반도를 둘러싼 평화에 대한 복잡 다양한 양상은 남북 간 교류 협력에 대한 새로운 접근법을 요구하고 있다. 전시산업 교류 협력은 넓은 의미로 관광산업의 한 부분이라는 측면에서 이미 진행되어 오기도 했으며, 제조업의 산업적 측면에서 접근이 용이할 수 있는 산업이다. 따라서 전시산업 교류·협력에 관한 연구는 새로운 남북 관계를 구축하는 시점에서 시의성 있는 필요한 분야이다.
교류 협력의 전단계로 북한의 전시산업 현황을 파악하고 이해하는 것이 우선적으로 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 1차적으로 현재까지의 북한 전시산업의 현황을 종합적으로 정리하고, 북한 전시산업의 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 양 측면을 체계적으로 분석하여 북한 전시회의 특징을 파악한다. 나아가 교류·협력 방안을 모색하고 시사점을 도출하여 통일 한국의 전시산업 발전에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
남북 전시산업 분야의 교류 협력은 산업적 교류와 인적교류 모두를 취할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 정치적으로도 부담이 적은 분야로 단계적으로 추진될 필요가 있다. 우선적으로는 남북이 전시회 참관단(visitor)을 구성하여 상호 개최 전시회에 방문하고, 기업(exhibitor)들이 상호 참가하는 형태가 진행될 필요가 있다. 나아가 전시산업 공동 인프라 구축의 일환으로 전시컨벤션센터의 건립 및 운영에 대한 논의로 이어질 수 있으며, 이는 남북 교류 협력에 다양한 의미를 시사한다. 쌍방형적 인적·물적 교류는 남북 간 상호 적대감을 해소하고, 신뢰를 구축하는 효과적인 수단이 될 것이다. 이러한 자연스러운 과정을 통한 전시산업 교류 협력은 남북의 평화적인 관계를 형성하고, 국제적인 평화 이미지를 공고히 하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

The complexities of peace surrounding the Korean Peninsula, such as the 2018 Inter-Korean(South-North) Summit, the breakdown of the US-North Korea Hanoi Summit in 2019, and the subsequent reunion of Panmunjom US-North Korea, call for a new approach to inter-Korean exchange and cooperation. In a broad sense as part of the tourism industry, ‘exchange & cooperation in exhibition industry’ has already been carried out , and is an industry that can be easily accessed from the industrial side of the manufacturing. Therefore, research on exchange and cooperation in the exhibition industry is a timely and necessary field in establishing a new inter-Korean relationship.
As a preliminary stage of exchange and cooperation, it is necessary to first grasp and understand the current status of the exhibition industry in North Korea. Therefore, this study primarily summarizes the current status of the North Korean exhibition industry in a comprehensive manner, and systematically analyzes both aspects of hardware and software in the North Korean exhibition industry to identify the characteristics of the North Korean exhibition. Furthermore, it aims to contribute to the development of the unified Korea's exhibition industry by seeking ways of exchange and cooperation and drawing implications.
Exchange & cooperation in the exhibition industry between the two Koreas should not only take both industrial and human exchange, but also need to be promoted step by step in a politically less burdensome area. First of all, it is necessary for the two Koreas to form an ‘visitors group’, visit mutual exhibitions, and then exhibitors participate in the mutual exhibition. Furthermore, as a part of building a joint infrastructure for the exhibition industry, it can lead to discussions on the construction and operation of the exhibition convention center, which brings various meanings for inter-Korean exchange & cooperation. Bilateral human-material exchange will be an effective means of resolving mutual hostility between the two Koreas and building trust. The exchange & cooperation of the exhibition industry through this natural process can contribute to the formation of peaceful relations between the two Koreas and to solidify the international peace image.
