매체 특질에 따른 고전 콘텐츠 다시 읽기와 다시 쓰기 연구 (Modern methodology of interpreting Korean classic narratives Focusing on the media aspect)

초록

콘텐츠라는 개념은 최근 다양한 영역에서 사용되지만 주로 산업화와 맞닿아 있는개념으로 인식되어 융합적 연구나 산학협력적 연구의 기반이라고 생각하는 경우가많다.그러나 문학,인문학 연구자들의 고전 읽기 과정에서 콘텐츠적 관점의 접근이란 단순히 이를 산업적 측면에 들여 놓는 것이 아니라 그 장르론적 경계에 속박되지않고 이를 보편서사적 관점에서 다시 읽는 과정이라 정의하고자 한다.
매체의 속성은 서사와,그중에서도 서사 창작과 유기적으로 상호작용한다.예컨대지금 유투브와 같은 일인미디어,사적 미디어의 도래와 더불어 주요 콘텐츠의 성격이달라졌으며 구성 방식 역시 기존의 미디어와는 구분된다.물론 매체가 서사를 규정하는 일방적인 관계이거나 단순히 서사,혹은 콘텐츠가 선행하고 이를 기술적으로 전송하는 과정이 아니다.매체 산업론이 아니라,서사가 발현되는 유기적 표현면으로서매체가 가지는 특징을 고려하는 것이다.따라서 본고에서는 웹툰<신과 함께>와 영화<신과 함께>를 중심으로 서로 다른 매체에서 고전 콘텐츠의 다시 읽기와 쓰기과정을살펴보고자 한다.
웹툰<신과 함께>는 본풀이를 중심으로 고전서사를 현대적으로 변용한 텍스트이며영화는 웹툰을 재매개한 것이다.웹툰은 그 연행성과 구술성을 중심으로 본풀이의 매체적 특질을 어느만큼 이어받으며 서사 층위에서도 일상성,현재성과 같은 가치들을중심으로 서사를 구현했다.반면 영화에서는 웹툰이 가지고 있던 일상적 장을 중심으로 한 매체적 속성이 사라지며,동시에 서사 층위에서 보다 판타지적인 각색 경향을보인다.결국 콘텐츠 기반의 연구와 접근이란 문학적 원형과 정전적 권위의 탈피를전제로 하여 다양한 표현과 발화와 재현이 여전히 스토리와 서사의 일부임을 환기하는 과정 속에 있다고 전제하려는 것이다.

영어초록

This essay focuses on the methodology of re-reading and re-writing Korean classics as cultural content. The conception of content is often considered as the media itself or the product of the media industry. However, the aim of the new approach to Korean classics as cultural content is not to directly industrialize the content but to create and investigate the methodology of modern interpretation, that is, to read classic narratives within the general structure.
For the modern reading and creation of Korean classic narratives, it is necessary to recognize the character of the media and the structure of the narratives together.
The character of the media is not confined to the technical process but includes the level of narrative expression. This means that the media and the narratives mutually communicate. Therefore, this essay analyzes the webtoon and the film With the Gods as the modern transformation of bonpuri. The webtoon With the Gods borrowed the main concept from Korean classic bonpuri, especially Chasabonpuri, and transformed and recreated the narratives so that the process demonstrates the way to create new content from Korean narratives. The film mediated the webtoon, not the classic narratives. The character of media can be divided into two categories relatively having with more orality and literacy. The character of webtoon orientated from its orality structures the narratives related the ordinary life and the life of everyone. On the other hand, the film is restructured into fantasy with maximized image-directivity.
Accordingly, the approach of combining the media and the narratives can form the basis for developing education methods for cultural content, which is widely sought after in human science fields, especially for maintaining the academic perspectives.
