수 감각, 핵심어, 문제 만들기를 강조한 수학 문장제 해결 전략의 효과 (The Effects of the Mathematical Word Problem Solving Strategy Emphasizing the Number Sense, Keyword and Problem Posing)

초록

본 연구는 수 감각, 핵심어, 문제 만들기 전략을 병행한 수업이 수학학습장애 위험아동의 수학 문장제 해결 능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 초등학교 1학년 15명의 수학학습장애 위험아동들을 선별하고 그들의 수학 문장제 해결 능력을 향상시키기 위하여 수의 기초가 되는 수 감각을 기르는 전략, 수학 문장제 문제의 의미를 이해하고 해결과정을 숙달하는 핵심어 전략, 수학 문장제 문제를 실생활에 활용하는 문제 만들기 전략을 병행하여 적용하였다. 4주 동안의 겨울 방학 기간을 활용하여 주 5일 총 20회기의 집중적인 중재를 진행하였고, 사전—사후 t검정을 실시하여 중재의 효과를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 수 감각, 핵심어, 문제 만들기 전략이 초등학교 저학년의 수학학습장애 위험아동의 수 감각과 수학 문장제 해결 능력의 향상에 긍정적인 효과를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과를 보아 초등학교 저학년의 수학 문장제 해결 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 수의 기초를 기르는 수 감각 전략, 수학 문장제 문제를 이해하고 해결하는 핵심어 전략, 수학 문장제 문제를 실생활에 활용하는 문제 만들기 전략을 병행하는 수업이 바람직하다고 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 수학 문장제 문제 해결 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 문제해결을 실행하는 전략과 더불어 수의 기초 기술을 강화시키고 실생활에 적용하는 전략들을 병행할 필요성이 있다.

영어초록

This study aimed to find out the effects of the class combined by number sense, keyword and problem posing strategies on the mathematical word problem solving ability of at-risk children with mathematical learning disability. For this, this study selected 15 first graders with mathematical learning disabilities; and to improve their mathematical word problem solving ability, it combined a strategy of cultivating a number sense that forms the foundation of numbers, a keyword strategy of understanding the meaning of mathematical word problems and mastering the solution process, and a problem posing strategy of utilizing the mathematical word problems in the practical life. Making use of the winter vacation for 4 weeks, this study conducted the intensive intervention 5 times a week, a total of 20 sessions, and verified the effects of intervention by carrying out pre-post t-tests.
As a result, number sense, keyword and problem posing strategies had a positive effect on the number sense and mathematical word problem solving ability of at-risk children with mathematical learning disability in the lower grades of elementary school. In view of the above results, to improve the mathematical word problem solving ability of the lower graders, a class of combining a strategy of number sense that learns the basics of number, a keyword strategy of understanding and solving the mathematical word problems and a problem posing strategy of utilizing the mathematical problems in the practical life may be proper. Therefore, to improve the mathematical word problem solving ability of the lower graders, strategies of strengthening and applying basic skills of number in the practical life are needed to be combined along with a strategy of fulfilling a problem solution.
