두 집단은 자기표상에서는 실제 자기와 이상적 자기, 그리고 자기불일치에서는 실제-이상적 자기불일치, 실제-당위적 자기불일치, 실제-이상적 타인불일치, 전체 불일치가 성별에 따른 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한, 당위적 자기와 실제-당위적 타인불일치 및 우울이 집단에 따른 차이에서 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 성별과 집단별 간의 상호작용 효과를 보이는 변인은 없었다.2. 비행 청소년과 일반 청소년의 자기표상, 자기불일치 유형 및 우울과의 상관

영어초록

The purposes of this study were to investigate the self-discrepancy and the level of depression shown in delinquent juvenile in a reformatory. In addition, this study was aimed to examine the possibility of applying Higgins' Self-discrepancy Theory to two young groups of delinquent juvenile in a reformatory and normal juvenile.
The subjects of the present study were 290 boys and girls in three reformatories in Kyonggi-Do and 181 boys and girls in a middle school and a high school in Inchon area. The level of actual self-concept and the degree of self-discrepancy were measured by Self-Questionnaire, and the level of depression by Beck Depression Inventory.
The results of the study showed that there was statistically significant difference according to sex in the self-representation and the self-discrepancy. There was also a significantly negative correlation with depression in both delinquent juvenile group and normal juvenile group. The delinquent juvenile's depression showed statistically significant positive correlation with all types of self-discrepancy except the actual self-ought self discrepancy. However, the level of depression of normal juvenile did not show any correlation according to the type of self-discrepancy. The results of multiple regression analysis revealed that the level of depression in both groups was clearer in the actual self-concept than in self-discrepancy. In conclusion, the delinquent juvenile tended to have more negative actual self-concept, the higher degree of self-discrepancy and the higher level of depression than normal youths. Discussions and suggestions were made for further study.
