한부모이주여성 차별 경험 연구 (A Study on Experiences of Discrimination Among Single-parent Immigrant Women)

초록

목적 본 연구는 이주민 집단 중에서도 상대적으로 사회적 관심이 저조한 한부모이주여성을 대상으로 한국 생활 적응 및 자립 과정중 겪은 차별 경험 및 대처 전략을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이와 더불어 한부모이주여성 차별 문제 해소 및 완화를 위한 교육 및정책적 제안을 하고자 한다.
방법 이를 위하여 ***한부모 센터 회원 중 50명을 대상으로 기초 조사를 실시하였으며, 그중의 21명을 대상으로 그동안 겪은 구체적인 차별 경험을 심층 인터뷰를 했다. 이와 같은 자료에서 한부모이주여성이 겪은 차별 경험 및 시사점을 도출하였다.
결과 그 결과 총 3가지의 차별 경험 환경 및 9가지의 차별 경험 유형과 3가지의 차별적 감정 전달 경로, 그리고 4가지의 차별 경험대처 전략을 도출하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 한부모이주여성들이 한국 생활 적응 및 자립 과정 중 겪은 차별 경험은 “노동 현장” “사회생활” 및 “일상생활”에서 주로 나타났고, 차별 경험 유형으로 “출신 나라 차별” “한국어 사용 미숙 차별” “외국인(이주민) 신분차별” “가족 형태 차별” “모국어 차별” “정책 제도 차별” “공적 기관 차별” “성차별” 및 “학력 차별” 등이 있음을 확인되었다. 그 외에“눈빛 표정”, “언어 행동”과 “미디어” 등의 3가지 경로를 통해 차별적 차별적인 감정을 특히 느꼈고, “가정 형태나 신분을 숨기기”, “차별과 무시를 무시하기”, “지혜롭게 대처하기” 및 “차별을 초월해 자기계발하기”의 4가지 차별 경험 대처 전략을 사용하고 있음을확인되었다.
결론 연구 결과를 토대로 한부모이주여성 차별 문제 해소 및 완화를 위한 5가지 교육 및 정책적 제안을 제시하였다.

영어초록

Objectives In order to create an equal multicultural society, the purpose of this study is to explore the discrim inatory experiences experienced by single-parent migrant women who receive relatively little attention among immigrant groups in the process of adapting to Korean life and becoming independent, and then suggest ways to mitigate and solve them. Furthermore, It also presents educational and policy proposals to address and mitigate discrimination against single-parent immigrant women Methods For this purpose, a basic survey was conducted on 50 members of the *** Single Parent Center, and 21 of them were interviewed in depth about their specific experiences of discrimination. Based on this, the types of discrimination experiences experienced by single-parent immigrant women and their implications were derived.
Results The results show that the discrimination experienced by single-parent immigrant women during the proc ess of adapting to life in Korea and becoming independent mainly appear in “workplace,” “social life,” and “daily life,” and include “discrimination by country of origin,” “discrimination by inexperience in using the Korean language.” It was confirmed that there were experiences such as “foreigner (immigrant) status discrimination,” “family type dis crimination,” “mother tongue discrimination,” “policy system discrimination,” “public institution discrimination,” “gender discrimination,” and “educational background discrimination.” In in-depth interviews, research partic ipants claimed to have felt discriminatory emotions most often in the other person's “eyes and expressions,” “verbal behavior,” and “media.” The coping strategies single-parent immigrant women employed when encounter ing such discriminatory situations and experiences include “Hiding family type or identity,” “Ignoring discrimination and neglect,” “Coping wisely,” and “Overcoming discrimination through self-development.” Four types of “developments” were identified.
Conclusions Based on the results of the study, five educational and policy proposals were presented to solve and alleviate the problem of discrimination against single-parent migrant women.
