초록

이 논문은 강화학파에서 전개된 진가론(眞假論)을 심성론적 토대 위에서 검토한것이다. 그러면서 조선후기 사회에서 전개된 도덕이념의 변화와 주체의 자각이 강화학파에서는 어떻게 나타나는지 알아보고자 하였다. 그리고 결론에서, 역시 진가담론이 활발히 전개되었던 낙론(洛論)과 북학파의 경우와 비교해서 진(眞)‧가(假)의 개념과 주체의 특징의 차이를 분석해 보았다. 진가론은 양명좌파와 공안파, 특히 이탁오의 「동심설(童心說)」을 통해 조선사회에 수용되었는데, 시대와 사회에 대한 비판의식과 맞물려 주체의식과 도덕에 대한 반성적 담론의 틀을 제공하였다. 강화학파는 정제두가 양명학과 주자학을 절충하여 실심(實心)과 실리(實理)를 강조함으로써 도덕의 주체성과 실천성을 강화한 이후로 실심의 학문을 전승하였다. 그리고 진가담론을 통해 도덕 주체의 진정성에 대해 반성하고 도덕원리의 보편성을 추구하였다. 정제두는 진리(眞理)를 보편도덕의 근거로 요청하였고, 이충익은 「가설(假說)」을 통해 주자주의자들의 위선과 사욕을 비판하였다. 진가론을 통해 나타나는 강화학파의 주체관은, 도덕을 본질로 하면서 세계일원적이며 공적(公的) 참여의식을 가지고 있었다. 이것은 북학파가 양명좌파와 도가철학에 사상 연원을 두고, 탈도덕적이고 상호적이며 사적(私的) 주체의식으로 전향해 나간 것과 상반된다. 강화학파는 도덕성을 주체의 본질로 추구하는 보수적 질서 강화의 경향을 보여준다.

영어초록

In this research I reviewed Jingaron(The Discourse about Truthfulness) developed by the school of Gangwha(강화학파) based on the theory of the nature of the human mind. And then I tried to find out how the change of moral ideology and the awareness of the subject which developed in the society of late-Joseon Dynasty appeared in the school of Gangwha. In addition to the conclusion, I analyzed the difference of ‘the concept of truth and falsity’ and ‘the characteristic of the subject’ comparing the school of Bukhak(북학파) with Rakhak(낙학파), who also discoursed about truthfulness. Jingaron(The Discourse about Truthfulness) was accepted through the leftist Scholars of Yangming philosophy and Gonganpa(공안파), especially The Childlike Mind(동심설) of Li Zhi(이지), and then it offered the structure of reflective discourse about a sense of identity and morality, combined with the criticism of the times and the society. In the school of Gangwha, Jeong Je-du(정제두),compromising between the theories of Wang Yang-ming and the Zhu Xi,emphasized the Real Mind(실심) and Real Principle(실리) and fortified moral identity and practice. Therefore, the school of Gangwha succeeded on the studies of the sincere mind. And through the discourse of truthfulness they reflected the sincerity of the moral subject and then pursued universality of moral principles. The standpoint of the school of Gangwha shown through Jingaron had morality in essence, world-monism and public consciousness of participation. This conflicts with the school of Bukhak, based on the leftist Scholars of Yangming philosophy and Taoism philosophy, which converted to morality-free, commutative and private identity. The school of Gangwha shows its tendency of reinforcement of the conservative order pursuing morality as the essence of the subject.
