초록

· 연구 주제: 본 연구는 20세기 중국과 한국의 예술가곡 발전 과정을 시대별로 비교 분석하여, 서양 음악의 수용과 자국의 전통 음악이 어떻게 결합되어 독창적인 예술가곡으로 형성되었는지를 고찰하는 것이다. 이 과정에서 각 시대의 대표적 작곡가들이 서양 음악기법을 어떻게 변용하고, 이를 바탕으로 민족적 정체성을 반영한 예술가곡을 창작했는지를 중심으로 연구한다.
· 연구 배경: 중국과 한국은 20세기 초 서양 음악이 본격적으로 도입된 이후, 전통 음악과 서양 음악을 융합하는 과제를 직면하게 되었다. 중국에서는 1919년 5.4 운동이 민족주의와 자주성을 강조하면서 서양 음악을 수용하고 이를 중국의 전통 문화와 결합하려는 문화운동이 활성화되었고, 이를 통해 청주와 같은 작곡가들이 서양 음악 기법을 활용하여 중국 전통 시문학과 융합한 독창적인 예술가곡을 창작하였다. 반면, 한국에서는 1919년 3.1 운동 이후 일제강점기 동안 민족적 정체성을 지키기 위한 음악적 노력이 강화되었으며, 홍난파와 같은 작곡가들이 서양 음악 기법을 바탕으로 한국적 정서를 담은 예술가곡을 창작하였다. 두 나라는 이러한 역사적 배경 속에서 서양 음악을 수용하면서도 각각의 민족적 정체성을 지키려는 노력을 통해 예술가곡을 발전시켰다.
· 선행연구와의 차이점: 본 논문은 중국과 한국의 작곡가들을 시대별로 비교 분석하여 두 국가의 음악적 특징과 발전 과정을 체계적으로 조망한다. 기존 연구들이 한 국가의 음악사나 특정 시대에 집중한 반면, 본 연구는 두 국가의 음악 전통과 서양 음악 수용 과정을 비교하여 차별성을 지닌다. 이를 통해 중국과 한국의 현대 음악에 나타난 독특한 정체성과 음악사적 의의를 새롭게 제시한다.
· 연구방법: 본 연구는 질적 분석을 중심으로 하여, 중국과 한국의 예술가곡 발전 과정을 시대별로 비교한다. 연구의 주요 방법으로는 다음과 같다. 중국과 한국의 20세기 주요 예술가곡을 다룬 문헌과 자료를 분석하여 각국의 예술가곡이 어떻게 발전해왔는지를 고찰하였다. 각 시대별 대표적인 작곡가들(청주, 소우매, 황자, 홍난파, 박태준, 채동선, 김동진 등)의 주요 작품을 중심으로, 이들이 서양 음악 기법을 어떻게 수용하고 변형시켰는지, 그리고 자국의 전통 음악과 어떻게 융합하였는지를 분석하였고, 중국과 한국의 예술가곡 발전 과정을 정치적, 사회적 배경과 연계하여 비교함으로써, 두 나라가 서양 음악을 수용하고 변형하는 방식과 각국의 민족적 정체성이 어떻게 반영되었는지를 비교 연구 하였다.
· 연구결과: 중국과 한국의 예술가곡 발전은 각각의 정치적, 사회적 변화에 따라 상이한 발전을 보였으나, 민족적 정체성과 서양 음악 기법의 융합이라는 공통된 흐름이 있었다. 두 나라의 작곡가들은 서양의 음악적 기법을 변용하면서도 자국의 전통음악적 요소를 유지하며 독창적인 예술가곡을 창작하였다.
· 공헌점 및 기대효과: 본 연구는 중국과 한국의 예술가곡 발전 과정을 비교 분석함으로써 두 나라의 음악적 전통과 창작 과정을 심도 있게 이해할 수 있는 자료를 제공하였다. 또한, 서양 음악의 수용과 자국 전통의 융합이라는 측면에서 후속 연구에 중요한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 국제적인 음악 교류와 협력에 대한 학문적 통찰을 제공한다는 점에서 큰 공헌이 있다.

· Research topics: This study compares and analyzes the development of artist songs in China and Korea in the 20th century by period and examines how the acceptance of Western music and traditional music of their own countries were combined to form original artist songs. In this process, the study focuses on how representative composers of each era transformed Western music techniques and created artistic songs reflecting national identity based on them.
· Research background: After introducing Western music in earnest in the early 20th century, China and Korea faced the task of converging it with Western music. In China, the May 4 Movement 1919 emphasized nationalism and independence, and a cultural movement to embrace and combine Western music with traditional Chinese culture was activated. through this, composers such as Cheongju created original artist songs that were fused with traditional Chinese poetry literature using Western music techniques. On the other hand, in Korea, musical efforts to preserve the national identity were strengthened during the Japanese colonial era after the March 1st Movement in 1919, and composers such as Hong Nan-pa created artistic songs that contained Korean emotions based on Western music techniques. Both countries developed artist songs through efforts to preserve their respective national identities while accepting Western music in this historical background.
· Differences from prior research: This paper systematically views the two countries' musical characteristics and development process by comparing and analyzing Chinese and Korean composers by period. While existing studies have focused on the music history or specific times of a country, this study is differentiated by comparing the music traditions of the two countries and the process of accepting Western music. Through this, the unique identity and musical historical significance of contemporary music in China and Korea are newly presented.
· Research method: This study compares the development process of artist songs in China and Korea by period, focusing on qualitative analysis. The main methods of the study are as follows. We examined how each country's artists' songs have developed by analyzing literature and data dealing with major artists' songs in China and Korea in the 20th century. Focusing on the major works of representative composers of each period (Cheongju, Soumae, Hwangja, Hong Nanpa, Park Tae-joon, Chae Dong-sun, and Kim Dong-jin), how they accepted and transformed Western music techniques, and how they fused with their traditional music were analyzed. By comparing the development process of artist songs in China and Korea in connection with political and social background, a comparative study was conducted on how the two countries accepted and transformed Western music and how each country's national identity was reflected.
· Research results: The development of Chinese and Korean artist songs showed different developments according to their respective political and social changes. However, there was a common trend of national identity and fusion of Western music techniques. Composers from the two countries created original artist songs while maintaining their traditional musical elements and transforming Western musical techniques.
· Contribution points and expected effects: This study provided data to deeply understand the two countries' musical traditions and creative processes by comparing and analyzing the development process of artists' songs in China and Korea. In addition, it can be used as important basic data for subsequent research in terms of the acceptance of Western music and the fusion of local traditions and it has a great contribution in that it provides academic insights into international music exchange and cooperation.
