초록

세계사적으로 봉건의 시대가 끝나고 여러 가지 형태의 새로운 체제가 들어서면서 공통적으로 천명한 것은 여성해방, 남녀평등이었다. 그도 그럴 것이 수천 년간 봉건 체제를 유지해온 세계 여러 나라들에서 가장 큰 피해자는 다름 아닌 여성이었기 때문이다. 그 피해의 내용은 눈으로 목도할 수 있는 직접적인 것으로부터 사회 전반적으로 스며들어가 있는 가치관이나 인식에 이르기까지 다양한 형태로 나타났다. 그렇다면 봉건 체제가 해체되고 여성에 대한 이러한 편견이나 압박은 사라졌는가? 본 연구는 봉건사회에서 현대사회로의 급격한 변동을 겪고 있는 20-21세기 중국 사회에서 살아가는 여성의 현실과 심리를, 당대를 대표하는 여성 작가의 섬세한 필치로 그려낸 소설 작품을 통해 분석해 보았다.
표면적으로만 보면 사회주의 체제의 중국에서 적어도 제도적인 뒷받침 하에서 이른바 여성해방은 이루어지고 있고, 그 방향으로 향하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 이러한 모든 국가 정책의 핵심은 그 동안 봉건체제 하에서 여성들에게 씌워졌던 굴레를 벗겨내고 국가사회의 공동 구성원으로 인정하자는 것이라고 할 수 있다.
그럼에도 불구하고 현실 속에서의 여성은 봉건시대의 여성 못지 않은 수많은 사건 속에 노출되어 있고, 그 과정에서 크고 작은 상처를 받고 살아가고 있다. 그 생생한 모습을 어떠한 과장이나 수사 없이 담담하게 보여주는 것이 方方의 소설이다.
신중국 수립 이후 법적으로 여성은 남성과 동등하게 정치에 참여할 수 있게 되었고, 선거나 교육 면에서도 마찬가지 권리를 누릴 수 있었다. 여성의 지위 향상에 있어서 남성과 동등하게 일터로 나설 수 있게 된 점은 수천년간 차별을 받아온 여성들로서는 남녀평등으로의 획기적 진전이었다. 오래 전에 해결된 줄만 알았던 봉건의 문제는 여전히 여성들의 발목을 잡고 있다. 급속하게 발전해 가는 사회 속에서 여성을 판단하는 기준은 여전히 ‘美’에 머물러 있다. 아름다운 사랑을 꿈꾸었던 능력 있는 여성 黃蘇子나 어려운 상황 속에서도 난관을 뚫고 열심히 살아보려 했던 근면성실한 李寶莉 모두 절망적 현실 앞에서 분열하고 좌절하는 나약한 여성일 뿐이었다.

영어초록

Women's liberation and gender equality were the common manifestations as the feudal era ended and various forms of new systems were established. That is because the biggest victim in many countries around the world, which have maintained feudal systems for thousands of years, was none other than a woman. It is true that the contents of the damage came in various forms, from direct things that can be seen with the eyes to values and perceptions that permeate society as a whole. This study analyzed the reality and psychology of women living in Chinese society in the 20th-21st century, which is experiencing a rapid shift from feudal society to modern society, through a novel that depicts the delicate strokes of female writers representing the time.
On the surface, it appears that so-called female liberation is taking place, at least under institutional support, in China under the socialist system, and is heading in that direction. The core of all these national policies is to remove the restraints that have been placed on women under the feudal system and recognize them as co-members of the national community.
Nevertheless, in reality, women are exposed to as many events as women in feudal times, and in the process, they are living with large and small scars. It is the Fang-fang(方方)'s novel of the early 21st century that calmly shows its vividness without any exaggeration or investigation.
In the thousands of years of Chinese history, the establishment of New China in 1949 was at least a rapid rise from the perspective of women's liberation. After the establishment of New China, women were legally allowed to participate in politics equal to men, and they were able to enjoy the same rights in election and education. Being able to work equally with men in improving women's status was a breakthrough in gender equality for women who have been discriminated against for thousands of years. It is the reality of Chinese women today that they are recognized as the country with the least discrimination between men and women in Asia after
a steady effort. Has the women's problem been solved smoothly in China, which aims to become a Xiaokang(小康) society? The author has a skeptical view of this question. Problems of feudal, which had long been thought to be solved, are still holding women back. In a rapidly developing society, the standard for judging women is still 'beauty'. Or maybe it's gotten worse. A capable woman who dreamed of beautiful love, or a hardworking woman who tried to live hard through difficulties, were all weak women who were divided and frustrated in the face of hopeless reality.
