의상계의 嚴淨融會的 일승정토관 (A Study on the Viewpoint of the One-vehicle’s Buddhist Elysium of Euisang and his diciples on the blended basis of Hwaeom & the Pure Land)

초록

의상계 화엄행자의 교판적 입장은 法과 機의 측면을 통합하여 보면서 수행자를 별교1승 원교로 유도하고 있다. 별교1승이 佛敎法 측면에서 道의 이치를 기준으로 화엄 1승법계를 발보리심하여 증득하는 구조라고 하면, 방편1승은 중생의 근기 측면에서 相를 기준으로 신심과 신행방편을 통해 정토에 왕생하는 구조이다. 이러한 두가지의 구조적 관계가 嚴淨融會的 중도 관계인 것처럼 정토건립의 목적은 十地를 기준으로 하여 방편1승의 五乘 정토행자를 별교1승에 회심하는 것이다. 별교1승의 유심정토는 모든 중생의 망식으로 일어나는 갖가지 事法까지도 파괴하지 않고 전부 포섭하여 온전한 불국토를 이루는 것이다. 1승의 정토는 국토해와 세계해의 2종에 해당하는데, 노사나불의 본원력과 가피에 의해 장엄된 정토로 성기자애가 바탕이 된다. 이러한 1승의 정토는 고정된 정토에 대한 관념에 얽매이지 않는 不住中道의 유심정토이면서 인연에 따른 卽事會理의 理理相卽 법성정토이다.
방편1승인 3승교에서 밝힌 유식정토 등은 이 1승교 가운데 세계해 중에 포섭된다. 유가계가 정토를 부처의 수용토로 높이고 세친은 『섭대승론석』에서 8지 이상의 보살이 거주한 곳이 정토이고, 그 이하는 정토가 아니라고 하였다. 결국, 부처가 머무는 처소를 정토라고 한다면, 3승수행자나 오승에 해당하는 중생들이 신심을 내고 발심하여 1승에 회심한다면 모두가 부처가 되니 시방세계 모두 불국토가 되는 것이다. 六相圓融 자체가 언제나 중도 관계를 이루듯이 별교1승의 정토와 방편1승의 정토가 서로 주반이 되어 不卽不離, 不一不異의 중도적 관계에서 중생들을 이익 되게 하는 엄정융회의 不住中道的 정토를 이룬다.

영어초록

Based on the principle of Buddha’s enlightenment(佛道) the byeolgyoilseong has the constitution of practice and authentication(修證) through An aspiration for bodihisattva or enlightened mind(發菩提心) in the Hwaeom one-vehicle’s dharma realm(華嚴一乘法界) in terms of the teaching of Buddha by means of words(佛敎法). On the other hand, based on the principle of forms of dependent origination(法相) the expedience one-vehicle(方便一乘) has the constitution of rebirth in the budhhhist(往生) through the promotion of faith(信心增進) and expedience in pratice of faith(信行方便) according to peoples perseverance. Like this dual organizational corelation is the middle path on the blended basis of hwaeom & the pure land, the set-up purpose of elysium leads Five-vehicle ascetics of elysium(五乘 淨土行者) into byeolgyoilseong on basisof ten grounds of bodisattva(十地).
The one-vehicle’s buddhist elysium by of byeolgyo yusim(唯心淨土) organizes the complete Buddha land(佛國土) embraced the whole enchilada without any damage regarding all kinds of the material world(事法界) occurred by the deluded mind(妄識) of all living(衆生). This one-vehicle’s buddhist elysium(一乘淨土) is the pure land of Non-abiding Middle Path(不住中道淨土) not being bound by fixed dwelling places(住處: the concept related to streotype’s pure land) and also the Buddhist elysium of dharma nature(Beopseong: 法性淨土) on the part of sangjeok(相卽) between a cosmic law and cosmic law(理理) which is the mutual connecting point between the world of phenomena and the cosmic law(卽事會理). The One-vehicle’s Buddhist Elysium is relevant both two type of the guktohae(國土海) and segyehae(世界海). And this place is elysium decorated or adorned with bonweolryeok[本願力] by Nosanabul(盧舍那佛) with based on the beneovolence by seonggi(性起慈愛).
The projected pure lands by mind(唯識淨土) investigated by the three-vehicles teaching(三乘敎) of expedience one-vehicle are embraced in the segyehae among one-vehicle teaching(一乘敎). The yogācāra school makes the pure land high into suyongto(受用土) of Buddha. Vasubandhu declares his intention which is place of pure land dwelled by bodihisattva above immovable attainment of being unperturbed(第8不動地), bellow level than this. not the pure land by the bodihisattva.
After all, with estimation where the place inhabited by Buddha is pure land, if it raise up to the one-vehicle that the three-vehicles ascetics and all living of five-vehicle elysium through the promotion of faith and an aspiration for bodihisattva or enlightened mind all peoples are Buddha. Therefore, all worlds of the ten directions will be the complete Buddha land of yuksangwonyung(六相圓融).
