언어 네트워크 방법론을 활용한 한국민간경비학회보 연구경향 분석 (Analysis of Trends in Research Published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Private Security Using the Semantic Network Analysis Method)

초록

최근 우리나라의 민간경비는 양적 성장뿐만 아니라 질적인 면에서도 단순한 인력경비를 탈피하여 최신 과학장비와 첨단 컴퓨터 시스템을 활용하는 기계경비, 신변보호, 호송경비, 특수경비 등 괄목할 만한 성장을 거듭해 왔다. 이러한 시대적 흐름에 따라 민간경비분야의 현안을 연구하고, 발전방향을 제시하고자 2000년 12월 19일 한국민간경비학회가 창립되었다.
한국민간경비학회는 민간경비의 학문적 정체성 확립과 독자적인 학문적 영역을 구축하고 있으며, 한국 민간경비산업의 발전에 초석을 다지고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 이 연구는 2002년부터 2014년(통권 29호)까지「한국민간경비학회보」에 게재된 269편의 학술논문을 대상으로 연구경향을 분석하였다. 이 연구에서는 언어 네트워크 방법론을 활용하여「한국민간경비학회보」에 제시된 연구주제의 주요 개념간의 관계성 및 중심성을 파악함으로써, 개괄적인 수준에서 연구경향을 분석해왔던 전통적인 경향분석과 다르게 보다 계량적이고 객관적인 시각에서 접근하고자 하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같이 크게 세 가지 정도로 요약할 수 있다.
첫째, 2002-2005년 시기의 연구는 주로 한국의 경찰 및 민간경비산업에 대한 실태(현황)를 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 이에 대한 개선 및 대응방안을 제시한 연구가 주축이 되고 있으며, 아울러 한국의 경찰과 민간경비를 미국과 비교ㆍ분석한 연구가 많이 수행된 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 2006-2009년 시기에서는 민간경비원(경찰공무원)의 직무만족, 민간경비원(경찰공무원)의 교육훈련 등에 대한 실증적 연구가 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있었으며, 그 다음으로 민간경비와 경찰의 문제점을 고찰하고 개선방안이나 발전방안을 모색하는 등의 문헌연구가 주를 이루고 있었다.
셋째, 2010-2014년 시기를 살펴보면 이전 시기와 마찬가지로 민간경비와 경찰의 문제점을 고찰하고 개선방안이나 발전방안을 고찰하는 등의 문헌연구와 민간경비원과 경찰공무원의 행태에 초점을 맞춘 실증적 연구가 주를 이루고 있었다. 한편 이 시기에서 주목할 만한 사실은 민간경비ㆍ경찰과 관련하여 법ㆍ제도적 측면에서의 연구가 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있었으며, 경호학과 관련된 연구가 새롭게 부각되고 있다는 것이다.

영어초록

Recently in Korea, private security has achieved remarkable growth not only in quantity but also in quality, evolving from manpower-based security to electronic security, personal protection, escort security, special security, etc. using state-of-the-art scientific equipment and high-tech computer systems. In response to the latest trend, the Korean Society of Private Security was organized in December 19, 2000 in order to study current issues in the area of private security and to suggest directions for future development.
The Korean Society of Private Security seeks to establish the scientific identity of private security and to define its scope as an academic discipline, and is laying the foundation for the development of the Korean private security industry. With this background, the present study analyzed trends in research on private security using 269 dissertations published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Private Security during the period from 2002 to 2014 (Issue No. 29). Different from traditional trend analyses that examined research trends in a general level, this study attempted to approach from a more quantitative and objective perspective by focusing on the association and centrality of major concepts of research themes suggested in the Journal of the Korean Society of Private Security. The results of this analysis are summarized largely into three points.
First, research during the period of 2002-2005 mainly analyzed the current state of police and private security in Korea, deprived problems, and suggested solutions and improvement plans, and many of studies made comparative analysis of Korean and American police and private security.
Second, during the period of 2006-2009, a major trend was positive research on the job satisfaction of private security guards (police officers), education and training for private security guards (police officers), etc., and another notable trend was literature review for discussing problems in private security and police and looking for strategies to improve or develop.
Third, the period of 2010-2014 showed trends similar to those in the previous period, namely, literature review discussing problems in private security and police and looking for strategies to improve or develop, and positive research focusing on the current state of private security guards and police officers. On the other hand, a noteworthy fact during this period is that research on private security and police from the aspect of laws and systems occupied an important position, and research on security administration emerged newly as a major trend.
