섬과 육지간 보건진료원의 활동 비교분석 - 거제시를 대상으로 - (The Analysis of Working Activities of Community Health Practitioners on Island and Non Islands - Geojesi -)

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the working activities of community health practitioners (CHP) in Geojesi by contrasting islands and non islands. Operational report data for 2 island PHCPs(primary health care posts) and 10 non island PHCPs, was collected from the health center from the 6th to 7th of september, 2012. These data included information on population, primary medical services (primary health care activities), health promotion activities, chronic disease management and other health services.
The average population covered by a single PHCP was 619.9 persons, and the population of age 65 and older was 25.8 percent of the total population. The number of patient visits per month was 109.4 pts, and each CHP treated 4.4 persons per day.
This value did not differ significantly between CHP areas, islands and non island. The most common activities among health services were primary medical service, health promotion service such as elderly health service, women health service and chronic health service. In Geoje the PHCPs provided more primary medicine and visiting home services(p< .01) on islands than non islands.
Overall, the results suggest that the innovative function and public health sector role of CHPs (health promotion service, chronic disease service, welfare service etc) should be emphasized in order to improve the CHP support system in Geoje islands.
